Ah, that makes sense. I usually pop a nominal amount in straightaway after setting up new payees from existing accounts.S_uk said:
I was told by Tandem that interest is paid on the monthly anniversary of the date you first paid into the account, not the day you opened it. I know for most people it's the same date, but for me it isn't.PloughmansLunch said:
A month after you opened it, e.g every 8th of the month if you open today.liamcov said:What date does Tandem pay interest?0 -
Just in case this affects anyone else, this was triggered by FD's fraud protection (they called her later this afternoon) due to the amount (anything over 15k). Sorted with them on the phone and then it went through to Chip a little later.Blandiblub said:My wife has just opened a Chip account, linked her bank account and sent a small test amount which worked fine. She then went the rest of her savings (a much larger amount) but that's not shown up. It said something like "it's taking a bit longer, etc" but she's worried. I assume it's maybe the amount and her bank are checking things but have others had a delay on a larger amount? Just want to allay her fears!1 -
Is this happening for incoming payments? The only time I've heard about incoming payments being held for checks is for Kroo. There would be some risk if incoming money was held up before being applied to your account. Withdrawals are not made via OB, they are pushed from Chip. FSCS should still cover you where a withdrawal request was submitted, but the money was not sent.10_66 said:
Is this also the case for any open banking money that is put in suspense if they do money laundering checks?Band7 said:There is never any pending money when you deposit by OB into, or withdraw from, the CHIP Instant Access account.

It’s not happened to me at CHIP (instant access acct), where I have made countless deposits, often of 5 figure amounts, and I have not seen any reports from anyone else it happened to. I am therefore not in the least concerned myself.masonic said:This is not to say it couldn’t happen. My recommendation to anyone concerned that it could happen to them is that they do not attempt any deposits until they are completely satisfied that their money is safe.masonic said:The only time I've heard about incoming payments being held for checks is for Kroo.
Kroo holding up incoming payments, from my own accounts, well 😡🤬😡🤬. Been trying to close my Kroo account because of this since Feb 3, but they are even incapable of closing accounts……0 -
In respect of the Zopa Smart Save, if I start a new boosted pot, will the interest be paid on the monthly anniversary of the existing access pot or the opening of the new boosted pot?

It will be paid on the existing anniversary

Thank you, no, it hasn't happened to me. I was just trying to understand it fully.masonic said:

This keeps happening to me. Lloyds, TSB, First Direct and Al Rayan held my payments on few occasions. The largest "fraud" was sending £5k from Lloyds to another bank, the smallest was sending £10 from First Direct to Chase. Every time the issue was resolved, but long phone conversations are annoying. I've asked what exactly triggers these checks, but never had an answer. One thing I've noticed, most of these happened when I sent a small test amount followed by a larger one on the same day so now I'm sending the desired sum on the next day after test.Blandiblub said:

when this happened to me and i phoned up to ask someone about it, they said that sending a small amount first followed by a larger amount was typical of suspicious behaviour!! well, make of this what you will, but ever since i too have erred on the side of caution and waited a day after sending the test amount.allegro120 said:
