  • Gatehouse have launched a new easy access account at 3%. Minimum deposit £1.

  • Well Atom let me join after a passport photo, a video and a voice recording registered. Only for the computer to say no to the ID check when applying to open an easy access account. Online chat told me there is no alternative way of providing ID. What a waste of time. The good news is I can still log into my "account" hoorah.

The Paragon Bank Triple Access Account (issue 11) is now paying 3.10%

It allows 3 penalty-free withdrawals every 12 months.

I have the Issue 5 triple access and its rate hasn't moved as yet, but possible to open an Issue 11 via online banking...
  • RCI Freedom Savings up from 2.45% to 2.8%. Still nowhere near the top 10.

I got straight through to Shawbrook customer services yesterday as well and two weeks ago when I upgraded from 30 to 32 and did the survey and gave them top marks on both occasions makes a change from CS at some other places
I used their online secure message to get our account upgraded each time. It was done within 24 hours.

Sainsbury's is a pain, you need to open a new account to get each new rate, and manually transfer the balance.
This may be a world record. I sent a secure message to Shawbrook this morning asking them to 'upgrade' my account from 32 to 33.  Before I logged out I got a message in return saying that the account had been changed as requested. Can't fault them for speed! Other institutions may have left it in the in tray until Monday.

Shawbrook easy access account rises again

     now 3.01% on the website

Get them secure messages sent again !
Thanks for the heads-up yesterday. I am new to Shawbrook and sent my secure message at approximately 1:30pm - do you know how long it takes them to switch the account over? I see that the message says ‘read’. Many thanks!
I sent my message and within 1 hour they had changed my account over to the new higher issue
I ended up calling them today, they answered straight away and changed it instantly. Very impressed.
Last year their customer service went downhill badly and got that bad I considered leaving them

its been much much better last few months luckily

I’m glad to hear it has improved!

I’m also in the process of moving some money from Aldermore. They have also been great and I’ve had no issues, but the rate is 2.72% and it doesn’t look like it’s going to rise.

Me too. They do sometimes take a while, but maybe if enough of us move our money away they’ll get the message.

Cumberland BS seem a way ahead with 2.6% easy access business esaver but not my locality unfortunately. Wonder why so few choices with better rates.
in addition to needing to be local to a branch, you would need to have their current account for that savings account - which may or may not cost you money (depending on your use of that current account)... for their 2.40% account, you would just need to be local.
i'm using Newcastle without any issues, but their rate is the same as Aldermore's, so no benefit for you to change to them.
Shawbrook is 2.02%, but that's only £2 more per £10k per year in interest, so hardly worth the hassle for me to change.
