  • Hello anyone been having issues with Kroo App.
I filled in my details + It asked for a picture of driving licence or passport.

I took a picture of my driving licence front and back and then it wanted a face scan which I also included.

Then I press upload but it just keeps sticking on upload.

I disabled App then reinstalled but I keep getting the same.

Mine's not even letting me get that far. I get to the point where I choose a password and then freezes at that point.
Had the same. Managed step 1 and it froze so closed the app and started fresh and did step 1 again and now was able to do step 2 and frozen again, so closed and reopened and started again from step on and now froze at step 3, etc. Took me a good 20 min. It took them 48h to let me know in the end that something was wrong with passport readability. Did do the verification again and took not even 10 min the second time to have it approved. Transferred £50 in to fulfil Top Cashback requirement and that was instant. Only thing is that I can't find anywhere in the app the interest rate. App now working without issues and lags on an old Samsung S8 smartphone.
    I've got Samsung S10.

I've give up now & Binned It.

No doubt someone with the same/Higher interest will come along. 🤪

I did it in the middle of the night of the day it was on TV. Maybe avoid peak hours and use more antisocial hours or wait a bit until the mad rush is through and things calm down a bit.

Total disaster from the beginning. Installed the app. It kept hanging at different places. Tried 7 times to create an account and gave up. Tried the next day. Managed to create an account. Then found out that although they had my name correctly in the account details, they had my first name in the home page wrong. They managed to sort this. Then at 12.30pm today I transferred £10. The details are correct but 4 and a 1/2 hours later there is no sign of it. Tried to use in app chat to query "error whilst creating user". So tried to ring. They are open til 5.30. At 4.30 they said they were closed. I have emailed them so we shall see if that works. I rebooted the phone and now the chat works. The whole app seems to be very flaky and I really do not think I want to trust them with my money
Did you put your account number in the Reference field, as advised in the confirmation email?

I've just got the wretched thing working now and they're currently reviewing my application. This is probably one of the most frustrating current account applications I've had to put up with, requiring a grand total of 37 attempts since yesterday because the app kept freezing. I'm just in it for the topcashback bonus myself.
  • Boom ...... Tried again and it's working.😎
  • Can anyone please help me working out interest rates ?
I am waiting patiently for a Kroo account which will be paying 3% or so by the time they actually open the account.
I also have a Coventry BS First Home Saver which pays I think pays 5% on up to £1000 a month.
I want to know which will be the better interest rate but I can't work it out as one is a regular saver and one a current account.
In reality I don't have a lump sum so would be adding around £1000 a month to either one - but how to work out which pays the most ?
I have tried the savings calculators but they are different account types so I am just tying myself in knots !!

Simple. 5% is a better rate than 3%
but how to work out which pays the most ?
That's a different question and depends on how much you put in

But in this case 5% is still better than 3%

If you were to make equal payments into a regular savings account your annual interest ballpark figure would be - equal monthly payments x12 x interest rate ÷2

If you don't have a lump sum, and are therefore funding both in the same way e.g. adding £1k/month, then they are effectively the same thing, except one pays 5% and the other 'just' 3%.

CBS FHS, with £1k deposited on the 1st of each month, after 12 months, gives £323 in interest, according to MSE's Regular Savings Calculator

    Nonsense     it actually gives £194.
    This is what I got:

You're correct I used the wrong rate. Apologies
Anyway, ballpark figure as I mentioned in my earlier post.
