    If they start getting funny then sure, but at the minute it's just a complicated set of circumstances

    If you really want to respond to your landlord you could do worse than direct him towards G_M's guide to Ending/Renewing an AST: what happens when a fixed term ends? How can a LL or tenant end a tenancy? What is a periodic tenancy? link given you you in post #3.

    I was told by the property agent that the LL sometimes uses to renew the tenancy, that they hadn't placed my deposit in a properly secured scheme. He had advised them to do this in March 2018 but I've had no correspondence telling me where it is and what scheme is being used.
