What info is required from the debit card of the account you are switching from - just the long number or expiry, 3 digits on back etc too?

You should not give them the 3 digits on the back, but you will need to give them the expiry date.

Are people applying for the Amazon vouchers as soon as they have the URN from Santander, or are you waiting until the switch completes before applying?

I realise that this won't get me the voucher any quicker, as they'll wait until it's all completed, and then issue the voucher in tranches, but does it matter when you submit your request?
How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)

There is nothing to be gained by applying until the switch is complete and a risk it will be rejected and the code blocked as an invalid claim. It does say claim once the switch is complete ... so wait the 7 days until it is complete :). Applying earlier potentially just creates work for them and slows down normal processing.

For those that have joined Santander as a new customer as part of the switch and then wanted to get your own codes to refer others, how long did you wait before applying for the codes? Safe to do it straight after the current account online application saying successful (and thus get account number and sort code) or need to wait a few days?

Time from claiming Amazon vouchers to receiving them can be up to 30 days now. First claiming of vouchers in March were much quicker. I find it disconcerting that the link following your successful claim gives info on next steps on referring eg unique codes. It makes sense to set up two step verification on your amazon account to make it more secure, especially if you have hundreds of pounds worth of vouchers building up before spending.

Agree with the 2 stage verification - recently put 2 stage on my Amazon account for exactly this reason, anticipating several hundred pounds worth of value being added to it over several weeks and worrying about security. Advised Mrs Z-man to do the same this morning.
