may I just check I have this right?

my OH has 5 referral codes. I have an existing Santander account. I have many "doner" current accounts.
I call the account switching team, I can switch up to 5 accounts during the same call, all to the same existing Santander account, I get a different switching reference number for each account switch.

as each switch completes I use the claim form adding the switch reference and my OH's referral code.

wait some time and we each end up with £50.00 x 5 = £500.00?

    thank you.

Yes that is correct, but you can double that too...

...repeat again so that OH does 5 switches and submit claims for your 5 referral codes. So total of £1k vouchers.

    T+C does say allow 30 days ...

Also Santander may be concerned about the extra calls going through them due to duplicate Amazon Codes being issued.

Early last week after contacting Company that issues the vouchers via Santander 0800 number about duplicate voucher issued on 20th March having spent ages explaining the problem and fact had been a common known problem I ended up with another duplicate Amazon code seemingly due to replacement code Amazon code merely coming from my allocation of 5 refer a friend codes, I had already claimed 4 of them, they ended up sending all 5 on basis 1 will work which means likely when my 5th refer a friend gets approved will end up with another duplicate Amazon code, I phoned 0800 4 times on same morning if others have had similar problems then Santander may be looking into it as will be putting unnecessary calls pressure on its call centres.

Isn't it a 3rd party that Santander have contracted to administer the campaign? But whether it's Santander themselves or a 3rd party, I have an inkling that they put a temporary stop to processing claims, in order to get on top of what appears to be a bit of a mess. We'll just have to remain patient. I am sure we'll eventually get all vouchers we have a rightful claim to.

Third party phone number is chargeable, people like myself would prefer to phone Santander 0800 and ask to be transferred which they will do, Santander call handler waits on line until is able to transfer the call, all adds to Santander own call waiting times for those with account/banking queries, something I was highlighting

It is one thing issuing duplicate amazon code once, to issue another duplicate as supposed replacement is …...

I agree, I have seen that somewhere... but it is not in the t&cs.

    Has anyone received a decline?
  • Just spoken to the Refer a Friend line ( 01325 390839. open 9am to 6pm Monday to Friday.) as I have a voucher outstanding. Did the claim form on 29/3.
The lady on the phone said that "they were sorting a quote for the vouchers" which I'm guessing means they needed to buy more of them and that they will be sent out within the next few days.

Haven't posted on here for ages but thought it might help others - this thread has been great to keep track of process.

They need another batch of vouchers? Anyone would think a bunch of people on MSE are switching multiple accounts in to get as many vouchers as they can :rotfl:

I keep seeing reference to duplicate Amazon codes. Can you explain exactly what you mean when you say you received duplicate?

Some people had an identical Amazon code come through for their second claim, rather than a unique code.
