Sick of everything, any advice?

Hello everyone.

I will apologise outright for being negative, but lets face it, if life was good I wouldn't be here.

I am 25 in a week or so, yet I feel like an old man. I am drained emotionally and physically and i'm not sure how much more I can take.

I currently have XXX of debts and I have to pay around XXX per month.

I have got most of my creditors calling and chasing me and I don't know what to do.

I run my own home based Website Design business which is doing very well, but obviously all businesses need time to develop. Mine has steadily increased in the 7 months it has been running (I have been a website designer for 8 years+).

I do not want to abandon my business as I am a very creative guy and my ideas have made lots of people quite a bit of money in the past so I want to work for myself from now on. I have a lot of business ideas that I would like to realise, if and when I could afford to work on them.

Now my girlfriend has become pregnant. Good news yes, but not a great time.

I have found a REALLY good business opportunity (franchise) that needs 8k to start up but is pretty much a guaranteed winner, but of course nobody is prepared to lend me the money (my credit history is less than clean).

It all started when I had my first car, a ford KA on finance.

One day I was hit head on, in MY lane by an UNINSURED foreign driver.

He got off scott free, the car was a write off and I was left with all the finance to pay on the car, even though it was probably crushed to a cube shortly after. It seems the agreement I signed didnt cover me for anything like that, the salesman had specifically told me it would be fine if anything like that happened.

My second car, a second hand Puma left the road about 6 months after I got it (on finance), slid on ice, hit the motorway crash barrier and wrote it off.

I was left with all the finance to pay on that too. The salesman at this garage had ALSO told me SPECIFICALLY that the agreement I took out would pay off everything in the case of a right off. Lying !!!!!!! screwed me over.

I still needed a car as my job wasnt local so I HAD to get another car, a Fiesta, which I am paying WAY over the odds for. I also needed a shortfall loan to make up the balance.

I also have a small personal loan which I needed to get me out the !!!! a while back.

Basically everything has snowballed. Yet none of it was my fault. Neither car accidents were down to me and it feels like everyone is out to get me and I really dont see the point.

I have very low self confidence as it is and all this really doesnt help.

I am someone that WANTS to work all the time and make a success but I'm not being given a chance. The fact that there are so many dossers and wastes of space around that get so many opportunities makes me sick to the stomach.

There are so many things I want to do, both for me and my family, but I just dont see how I can.

I am posting here really as one last ditch attempt at reclaiming my life. It seems that the community is very supportive. I never discuss my problems with anyone, I always keep things inside, however, I think I have to start being honest with myself and admit that I need help.

I am at a VERY low level and it is only the fact that my girlfriend is pregnant that has given me a reason to reach for a bit of help, otherwise I probably wouldn't be around.

Anyone around to offer some hope?

    Hey dude.

I've been in pretty much the same boat for a while (bar the pregnant girlfriend). The stress was making me ill. But it can be reclaimed. The only problem is you have to work at it.

    We're all here for you!
Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want, and deserve to get it good and hard.
  • Can you give us a little more info on you XXXs... can you post a SOA for us.

As HBFS says we are all here for you.
  • Hi Gary,

Sorry to hear life's a bit cra!!y for you at the mo. How about starting with posting your SOA and some of the clever people around here can give you some advice as to where to start.

It usually helps to focus the mind and bring everything back into perspective. it can help make you feel more positive about everything too.

    And congrats on the baby!

  • I'm not doubting you haven't chased this up, but how the hell can you not receive anything for your first crash?

What about under your own insurance? Were you fully comp? And also their is a body/company that deals with payouts to drivers involved in uninsured accidents that weren't their faults! Have you gone to them?

I can't think of their name but post in this board and they'll be able to help!

As for your Puma, I take it you weren't fully comp?
  • I was fully comp with both cars.

The insurers pay the market value of the car, the finance is all left to me.

    For example.

    Car is £8,000 new

On finance the total I would pay is £12,000

Car crashes, market value is £4,000.

I am left with £8,000 to pay.

    These figures are an example.
