This really is a poo situation to be in and I can totally understand how you are feeling.
One tiny thing, I have learned along the way is NEVER EVER buy a car on credit, learnt the hard way of course!
Debt free and plan on staying that way!!!!
  • Hindsight is a wonderful thing.
  • Have any of you called the moneysaving 0800 number?

I just did and they were very friendly and I am expecting a call within the hour to discuss an IVA.

  • Just caught this & wanted to say Hi & send a hug! There is loads that you can do so dnt despair. I know its hard (i have just under 30000 of debt) but you can get there. Looking at your income is there any way you can make more - maybe get part time work, bar job etec? You can do surveys etc and get extra dosh and vouchers and things like mystery shopping may be good for quiet times for you?
Do you mean have peope rung CCCS? Yes I did at the start and they were very helpful. Dont rush into anything because you're panicked - its hard not to do that but you ca make some costly mistakes if you do!! CCCS/debtplan (numbers above) will help you sort through things & can act on your behalf to arrange a DMP (debt management plan), IVA or whatever is suitable. It is hard going but all feels so much better when you've sorted things!
If you are feeling suicidal then you need to & see your GP. Its only oney & while it feels desperate your life is worth so much more than that. Things seem bleak at the moment but take some time to read some of the debt diaries and you will realise that people do get through it! and the joy is that we're doing it togeather! Keep us posted & keep posting! Hugs for you!
PS have you tried the criminal injuries compensation board & victim support re the crash...they may be able to advise.

    Money saving 0800 number?

By that do you mean the CCCs or payplan?

If not you will likely be charged for this service, and we get a multitude of reports that these companies hand out less than adequate advice

First of all we have all been through this from time to time, the first thing i would say is that while money is important, it should not ruin your life.

If you are having trouble with making payments the best and easiest way is to arrange a meeting with the CCCs or payplan, and they will help you go through your SOA, and help you negotiate a repayment plan, that you can afford, with the creditors.

Why did they say you can't have one? Who is it you spoke to?
