3 loads of washing line dried. Stripped my bed, washed mattress cover, flipped mattress with the aid of DD. Cleaned out bunny hutch - dried beautifully in the warm sunshine. Uncle phoned to tell me about ancestor who died in Singapore (WW2) and of whom I had no knowledge. So next Remembrance day I will wear my poppy for him. I now know the names of my paternal great-grandfathers. DS has the same name as one of them.

Been to town. Got chicken breast, salmon, cod and fillet steak YS. The steak was reduced from almost £15  M&S! Wooty wooty woot woot.

I've just spent a couple of hours making ice cream (Jamie recipe, no churning involved) with whoopsied cream from Morribunds. 10 pints of raspberry, strawberry, peach and proseco, salted caramel, ginger and blackcurrent in the freezer. I love a good whoopsie haul.

    You're welcome, Fayolle.

Lamewolf, it sounds to me as though you're more frightened than depressed. There is no more chance of what happened to your ex-colleague happening to you tomorrow than there was yesterday, and it didn't happen yesterday, did it. This will pass. And you can ask the pharmacist to do the drug boxes for you - most will. And no-one ever got happier or more together after a slap, but some do after a hug. Have a (((hug))).

Roundtuit, you're on a real roll today! Good for you. There are days, aren't there, when you know you can roll up your sleeves and get stuck in, and miraculously it seems really easy to fling stuff, let it go without any hassle, and clear masses of crud. It sounds as though you're having one of those, and without them occasionally I don't know where I'd be. It won't be long before under the kitchen table is completely clear and you can start thinking about where else you want to tackle.

(((Hugs))) for Dancemum and Mrs MP.

Hob and oven shelves sparkled. Magnets glued to the backs of scrabble letters for the fridge; I've wanted to do those for ages. They look fab. We're going to make fridge magnets of all our favourite animals that are no longer with us when I get round to getting the photographs printed of Kelpie, Diddley, Miss Moppet, more of Devil Cat, Honey Bear and Mrs Dog. The scrabble letters were a practice run and I've already discovered I need more Ls.
    Better is good enough.
  • LW been thinking about you a lot lately, sorry you are having a rough time of it. Speaking from experience here, but when you are struggling with life its easy to get fixated on a fear or worry. The fear of losing DH and managing on your own is understandable, have you talked to him about it? Hope things get better for you x

DS2 is going out and his lift has let him down so him and mates need taking on a 20 mile round trip. Sigh, have already agreed to pick DS1 and GF up later. Other parents have either had a drink or are going out themselves apparently. Oh well that's my Saturday night sorted then!

Washing dried outside, everyone fed and kitchen tidied, few bits of shopping done.

LW... my nanna woke up one morning with her husband dead beside her.. that is the only case I have ever heard of in my entire life.. he had broken his leg at work.. got a blood clot which caused a stroke and his demise.. it happens but very very rarely. If we worried about all the things that might happen we would never have time to love what we have. We couldn’t appreciate the furry beasts or enjoy our flowers or our gardens or books or anything at all. How many wonderful things do you have in your life?

Your heart knows your thoughts are irrational you know the chances of that happening are slim and if it helps all could you with the help of Mr Wolf find ways to deal with ways you could get help should he pass before you? There is a way around most problems easy enough..

Morning all. Hope you're all ok this morning.

I need to sort out vases of flowers and house plants, take duck out of freezer to defrost, do dailies, eat, dress and walk the dogs.

Then I can get back on with gardening.

    Have a great day everyone.

    Morning :hello:

Didn't sleep well so I'm easing myself in to today. (My own fault - played online Solitaire 'til 11 pm and then was too 'wired' to sleep.) I was up at 7 and I've had a leisurely brew, loaded WM and set it swishing, and eaten breakfast.

My Dad picked up DS at 6.45 am and they have safely arrived at the karting track. GF is being picked up at 9.15 am by DS's dad and they're going to cheer on DS when he races. I would 'normally' have been up and on - fetched the morning paper and be sat with Mum for the day. It's only the second karting Sunday since she died - they don't race in December / January. Oh great - now I've made myself cry :(

    Pulls myself together....

When GF has been 'collected' I'll go up and get washed and dressed, then do the dailies before I embark on another hhc. There are two more fancy dress costumes and a plastic cutlass under the kitchen table - they will not be there much longer :D

Hope everyone has a peace filled day

Ah Round, the firsts are always difficult.

Essentials done so just having a cuppa and then I'll get out in the garden.

It didn't occur to me until I started typing that it is the first karting Sunday when I have stayed home alone. November meeting I went with them to support Dad as much as anything as he wanted to carry on and go but everything was still very raw, and a bit of a blur if I'm honest. I could have gone today I suppose - but there would still have had to be a first eventually.

Maybe Mum has gone with them to watch DS race? She loved to go, but couldn't for the last years of her life. Nowt to stop her getting in the car with them now!!!!

It's lovely out in the garden here, Jazee. Hope it is where you are too. I've hung out my first load of washing and it's blowing nicely in the sun. Second load is swishing - and includes a fitted bottom sheet that I found. Guess where? Under the table :o

I'm washed; dressed; teeth & hair brushed; perfume on.

I've made the bed; WUDUPA; fed the birds; put out recycling - including washed yogurt pots (I'm saving the planet again :D) and my comb is soaking as I noticed how grim it looks.

I'm going to do some 'little' jobs as I'm feeling a bit fragile. I'll make a note of the Christmas cards received and put them in the recycling; ditto DS's birthday cards; and catch up my 'penny saving' tracker. I made out the full grid for 2019 - bit of a waste if I stall in January :o

Then I can tick them off my to do listy :T

'little' jobs done :D There is now an empty space on the sofa where there was a pile of cards.

Second WM load hung out to dry and Stig outfit currently swishing in WM.

Notebook (under cards) added to notebook stash.
Comb cleaned and returned to bathroom
Two fancy dress outfits and plastic cutlass recovered from under the table.
There is a very large screw under the table - a quick check of the table's nether regions would imply the screw did not come from up there. Hmmm. Still better a very large screw than a very large spider :D

    You're doing really well Round.

I spent two hours gardening which I've learned the hard way has to be my limit on any one day. The front garden looks lovely, I've planted hundreds of plants and the back garden and greenhouse are tidier.

All rubbish and green stuff out for collection tomorrow.

Just waiting for DH to get home from paid stuff and we can have lunch together. Then I'll walk the dogs and then relax with some reading.
