Yes. There is no law that prevents this.

Just an update to this, my landlord is still calling round unannounced and has actually increased in frequency since I last posted. I was working from home last week and had to forcefully tell him to leave, which he did. But then called the next day, let himself in, and spent two hours in my flat, alone. Claimed he was "doing a job" on the flat, but couldn't tell me what that was, or how he spent his two hours in the flat yesterday.

I can guess what he was doing for two hours. If you cant change the lock yourself get a locksmith in, explain the issue and I bet they will even show you how to replace the original lock when you leave. If you don't want to get the lock changed you should probably at least put a lock on your undies drawers!

I am nowhere near London/SE but can assure you this is not normal landlord behaviour.
Very true! I've never met my landlord, I see my letting agent once a year when I sign the contract for another year hahaha. Never had them come round to inspect the property

I would be looking for cameras, and microphones, How do you know he isn't letting himself in weekly.

You were told to change the locks and fit an alarm.

Actually, I would fit a covert Car cam set to motion activation.

Change the locks, but before you do get one of these Hive web cams that act on motion detection. If you can afford to set more than one up.
You may find something disturbing....or not

Car cams are around £30-40 plus £20 for SD Card. The hive is £100.

But i did find a cloud webcam for £35, not inc SD card.
