Evening all
So glad to hear Master Pink is on the mend.
So glad the forums are back too.
The lodger is 'singing' if thats what it's called, so I'm off to take some paracetamol & got to bed.
Hope everyone has a good evening
Hugs Hester

and we're back! I see for a short while!
snowyowl - I think it was the fact that you mentioned you were doing some "housework" that caused the site to crash:eek::rotfl:
Well Ive done bog all today:D chatted to some people on msn and had a shower!
Unfortunately DD was suddenly sick tonite, so we had to shampoo the carpet in that bit! she had a shower and crashed out asleep now, hope it isnt this bug thats going around:o DS has picked up a cough n cold too!:o
twink - first an author! - are you going for a recording contract now!!!:D
pink - glad your DS is back home and on the road to recovery!:T
note to myself: dont forget to watch "Im a celeb tonite":D0 -
Oh my goodness my Chocolate fudge pudding recipe has disappeared -I hope you've all got it written down somewhere
Half my wartime experiment has gone too
-boy, I hope it all reappears.
But, the good news is Master Pink is home :j :j you must be so relieved Pink, best wishes to you all.0 -
Well, I hope you're all happy - because the forums have been down, I've had to do ALL my ironing!!!! What do you think you are playing at Martin?!!
Seriously though, you don't realise you are addicted to something until it's taken away do you. OH certainly appreciates it - I have followed him around like a lost sheep all day, poor guyWe must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0 -
Just a quick extra post from me, I've just been chatting to a work colleague. It seems 12 of the lodgers pupils walked out of her class today. They said 'there's no effing point being in her effing class as she can't speak effing English & so we can't effing understand her' I can't say I approve of their language, but they do have a point, her english is a bit strangled at times & gets worse when she's stressed.
When she was asking me about self service petrol stations what she said was 'By what time do you not get out of your car' it took me a while to work out what she meant. It's her grasp of grammer that seems confused as her accent is good, it's just the way she makes up her sentances.

Hi Guys
Glad the site is back on for now. I needed help last night and couldnt get on and really needed your advice......
DD's teperature went up to 40.1 and I didnt know how high that was....gave her ipruprofen and paracetamol (sp)....within in 20 mins it had dropped abit but went slightly higher (40.4)at around 3am:eek:   ....so when she started hullacinating (sp) and coming out with bizarre comments...I called NHS Direct. We used a cool flannels and lollies along with keeping on top of the meds and she settled. She has been better today put temp has started to peak up again but not as high as last night:j ...anyway will monitor and if still not great will call doctor out in the morning. This bug is nasty and I think Im coming down with it too:rolleyes:
Twink (mum)...thanks for all themessages and I have recievd them but just not had the time or energy to reply and I apologise for that.
I have a shop delivery (tesco) due in the morning and DD's new bedroom furniture coming....man from Freecycle came and collected all her old stuff today and our upstairs looks a right mess:o
Have managed to do 2 washloads, friend came over today to help for a couple of hours as OH is so knackered and Im still supposed to be resting...but I did manage to do a lovely sausage cassarole and got OH to take his dad 2 portions as MIL is in hospital ATM...at least I know he wont starve and its his favourite.
Also.....does anyone have any experiance with completing housing forms. My brain is blank ATM and I need to get them off ASAP....any advoce appreciated. I need to get some points across and dont know best way to put as its limited space on the form
Anyway.....I hope everyone is well and hugs to all.
Has anyone seem Queenie or Frizzhead around?....I miss ya:D

evening all - we're back for a bit are we
"celebrity" mastermind yesterday was 2 shows - dj spoony, brian sewell, yvette fielding, wayne sleep, tony hawkes, some young lady indian tv chef, steve cramm and the bloke who runs everton and is also a theatre something or other. Not going to say who won but i was sitting in the front behind the famous chair - woo hoo. They also did a quick thing for strictly come dancing with alicia dixon and ..... er ... the bloke she dances with. That goes out on wed I think but the rest will be near christmas.
just got all upset about eastenders as it was very like youngest dd who had an apgar score of 0 all the way through and was very very blue - took ages to recuss but is now, at 11, as bright as a button. Have been searching the net for spoilers saying that all was ok to set my mind at rest - how daft (haven't found any by the way)
have only really read the last page for the moment so hope all is well - stefI'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080 -
Oh my goodness, how good it is to speak to you all again. Haven't had a good browse since we went to Ireland on Friday!
I do hope your son continues to improve PW. What a fright. What about good old Scottish Stovies or Corned Beef Hash? Steamed fish with a cheese sauce? Also Haribo - hope your hospital visit went OK.
Aussie - sounds like that is a nasty wee bug running through your family. D+V always nasty! Hope you all recover quickly.
PennyP - sorry to hear your DD has been so poorly. I do hope she gets well soon and that you don't catch it.
To those others who have been poorly, have poorly folk round them, worries, troublesome kids etc etc - thinking of you.
Had a wonderful time in Ireland with DS and partner. They are so hospitable. Took us to see the show house for the property they want to buy. Wow!!!!!!! No interest in their apartment so far but they are not too worried. Seem to have got their heads round budgets etc etc and so proud that our lessons on saving, budgeting etc have in some way paid off. He did have his moments though when younger when he had to keep coming to me for a sub! All part of the learning curve.
All fine with DD and family. SIL has his lump scan tomorrow but they don't seem too worried. I just hope all goes well. They are coming to us for Christmas Dinner which is fantastic and I am already getting a lump in my throat thinking about it.
We have friends coming down from Aberdeen for the weekend so am busy with the preparations, changing beds, washing, ironing etc. DH and R going to Legion on Saturday to watch the Scotland football match so have a feeling a rather boozy weekend.
Our plumber has told us today he is coming to replace our cold water tank in loft on Thursday. DH and I have been up there tonight (how romantic!) rearranging the last minute things for access. Thank goodness we did the big October clear out.
Now starting to plan the new kitchen for early March. I am going to need advice folks. Where should I post? Here or the Homes Board. Where will I get the best advice?
Had better go as this is now a book!
Love to you all.

ooo stefejb - what were you wearing?? so we can look out for you behind the Big Chair!!
PPincher - when my ds had high temp, they did exactly same thing in the hosp, ibuprofen and paracetamol and put a fan on him to bring down temp.0 -
Evening all,
Isn't it good to be back...can't handle a day without MSE now!
Hugs to all who are sick sore and tired...feeling better than I did yesterday, but hoping for an early night as I feel that I could sleep now.
Not done very much to-day, stuffed porksteak with stir-fried veggies and hm wedges, with chocolate cake to follow, had a visit from a friend who has a 3month old little girl, she is so pretty and really starting to ' take notice', following every sound all the way around the room.
Christmas pudding is steaming atm, just a small one to save me from feeling guilty if we have none....makes no sense to me either, but that's how it is.
Csarina....come back to us, we miss you
