:j:j:j MSE IS BACK ON LINE :j:j:j

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for today. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Good morning everyone

I don't know about you, but I was going slightly round the bend yesterday when I realised that the MSE forms were broken. I was like a puppy who had lost his favourite toy... Thank you to the Techie persons for getting it returned to us:T:T

So then, in my lost little world I actually got around to doing a spot of tidying and cleaning. Can't say as I went mad like a Flylady or anything drastic like that, but lots of things have been singled out for chucking while other items found their way to where they belong. It's still not perfect out there in my real life home, but it's getting there.

Silly old me though decided to take a nap at around 6.00 pm...now look at me...the lights are on and there is somebody home!!

Haribo/Pink - any more news on Adam today?

Taplady - hope your meeting regarding your son went the way you hoped. What a worry for you.

N9eav - did you go to wo*k or did you stay at home since you were poorly?

Sorry...that's the total sum of my memory from yesterday, apologies to other people who are going through bad times - I haven't omitted anybody on purpose. Big cuddly hugs to those who need or want them.

Snowy

I missed MSE too! Had one of those days yesterday where I just seemed to be really clumsy. Dropped a whole casserole dish of cauliflower cheese on the floor at lunchtime! I was really looking forward to it! Also felt a bit irrational, must be PMT again. It really does get worse in the years running up to the menopause. Have to go back on Agnus Castus again but it's so expensive.

Bonus was bubble and squeak and sausages for tea. Also bought 4 bottles of alcohol in Asda they were selling off cheap (madeira, sherry, port and vermouth) all for £7.50. Have put them away for Christmas.:T

Got up early to study. Off to work at 1pm. Hope it's more cheerful than it has been recently. Need to pot on my lettuces before I go. Hopefully should be ready to eat by Christmas.

    Have a good day xxx:A

    Good morning everyone,

I had no idea MSE was off. I was in bed asleep. :D Well not really, as DGS was vomiting until 2am this morning. :( Luckily he didn't get the diarrohea as well. Poor DD had to come home just before lunch. You guessed it, she has it now. DH has a lot to answer for. The only one who hasn't got it has been XDIL. Maybe it's her that's been giving us all the s*its. :D

Good news on the house rental front. It looks like OS application has been accepted. :T Got quite a bit done today. Baked a carrot cake, bread, cereal, HM condensed milk & mayo, hot choc mix & caught up with ironing. Cleaned the oven & fridge out too. DGS was napping on and off.

Amie Glad your feeling a bit better today. I'm on the mend as well.
Janny I've never heard of Agnus Cactus before. Is it good? Maybe that's what Haribo needs. :D
Snowy Time to buy a telly.

Well I will get cracking. HOpe you all have a happy day & hope Master PInk has improved. (((hugs))) to the sickies. Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

Morning all. Wel, that made me panic again - the forums being down. Well done to Martin and the techies, yet again, for putting it all back together again.:money: :money: I had written a post yesterday afternoon and the forums must have gone down whilst I was writing it because it didn't post.

(((hugs))) to all those feeling poorly or with family members feeling ill- the only real comfort I can offer is to say that it's better to be ill now than at Christmas. Hope you all start feeling better soon.

PINK-WINGED - hope Adam is doing well.

Hope DONNY-GAL'S trip home is going well.

REDRUBY - we actually live in Southampton, about 40 odd miles from Littlehampton. My DH has been painting the outside of houses in Manning Road (I think that's the name of the road) but the company is going to see if he can work closer to home. It takes an hour and a quarter to get there early in the morning, but over two hours in the evening rush hour and it's costing a fortune in diesel. He has to start packing up at around 4 o'clock because the daylight goes, otherwise he'd work on and try and miss the heaviest traffic.

Well, I was so tired last night, I kept dozing off in front of the TV. I couldn't find anything decent to watch (I'm afraid I don't like soaps and the only 'celebrity' thing I like is Strictly). I thought I'd end up not being able to get to sleep when I went to bed, but I crashed out for the whole night.

Not sure what I'm doing today; need to wake up a bit first. Going to have another cuppa, so see you all later.

    Morning all :hello:

I bought a £5 tin of Roses in Woolworths yesterday. I left them at the bottom of the stairs so the next time I went up I'd grab them and put them in the special Christmas Stuff Only cupboard in our bedroom. Master tru spotted them and begged me to open them, promising that he'd pay for a new tin :rotfl: We were the only ones in the house for the next couple of hours - we settled ourselves down at the breakfast bar and had lots of choc and 3 cups of tea each :D

The part for our boiler should be in today, the man (forgotten his name lol) said he'd ring me when it's in and then come straight round. I gave him my mobile number too but I've decided not to leave the house, I'm not taking any chances, I've been so cold and I want the heating back ASAP :D

hug.gif for all the poorly people, there must be something going round in a major way, I know loads of ill people in real life too.

I'm going to potter today - great word that, potter - there's not much to do really, just bits and pieces around the house that need putting back into their proper homes :D

Morning. Missed out on yesterday as I was ill. Some stomach type bug attacked me. I feel better today and may venture to work.

Nothing much going on. It's cold and wet out there and I have to go and make some packed lunches.

    Cheers

    Morning All

Have to agree about I'm a Celeb - not loving the new series so far.

I'm so glad to hear I'm not the only one who frets when the forums go down!! :D

Got to say hi to those who've tagged me on facebook so far. Am slightly addicted to that site along with this one! Just putting my London pics on.

Spent a LOT of money in Tesco yesterday, so used my money off vouchers. Saved around £25 in all:T and got lots of extra points.

Received my Baileys frother thing yesterday. Looks like fun. Think that might come out soon.

Found a brilliant pressie for a friend for xmas - very amusing book! Must pay myself my PIN money later ready for the bank.

I'm waffling, so going to shut up now.

    Hope everyone's ok

  • Hi everyone.

Feeling the nip this morning. Might even go make a cuppa and a hot water bottle to put on my knee as this weather is really getting to my joints. The glucosamine tablets mum convinced me to take have been a huge improvement tho. Wish I'd known about those earlier!

Janny - interesting that you said that PMT gets worse in the run up to the menopause. I've never really had much of a problem with it but just lately I seem to be feeling decidedly 'out of sorts' around that time. Just put it down to other people being annoying intially, but now the men folk in our house are giving me sceptical looks when I say there's nothing wrong with me, it's them. Oh how I wish I'd had just one daughter so I could have slightly evened the numbers up. The odds are stacked against me at 3-1.
They could have a point tho, last night my knitting nearly went flying across the room because the pattern was wrong again. There was no mistaking the conspiratory grins I saw flash on their faces. Good job I love them so much. :)

Well, having a run into town with DH to pick up my free mini haircare from Boots with my vouchers and then going to have the rest of day watching DVDs with him and batch baking as he bought me a chest freezer yesterday and its looking very big and empty at the moment.

Take care all those that are sick, sad, worrying or feeling like they need a hug.

  • Morning all

Feeling really fed up this morning, don't know why, so apologies to everyone who really has a reason to feel down :o

Need to do something positive today, maybe make some hobnobs, but got on the scales last night and the half stone I put on on holiday isn't shifting at all, so maybe hobnobs aren't such a good idea

I loved Celebrity last night, and have to say I spent my 50p voting for Janice to do the next trial - she brought it on herself :D

Hugs to anyone not well, :grouphug:
