    32p is a start!

I've done this for a few years now and you could with your rounding up of the change.

It gives you a bit of back up cash for when you need it.

had the water bill thru for next year and its going up £1.62 pm which is not a lot in the grand scheme of things. I have also decided to bite the bullet and get rid of the tv and save the money on the tv license fee as well - another £12.83 saved there. need to make the call this pm and savings will kick in next month.

have also contacted broadband provider and am cutting my package with them from next month saving me another £16pm so monthly spend cut by a further 27.21 total from next month - winning :)
  • Moving the pennies over and rounding down adds up fairly quickly. Its only small amounts but its nice to see it grow. Ive got a few saving pots now and I round my bank accounts daily to end in something pounds and no pence.
Well done on finding extra savings in your budget. Hope you dont get bored without the telly. X

I barely watch the tv anyway so it wont be missed - I think the last time I turned it on was over the Xmas break :)

I didnt get the job that is local to me so I'm stuck with the commute but that's fine - at least I'm in gainful employment again from Monday with a regular wage - plus I get commission. I got the schedule thru this morning and I didnt even know it was part of the job so that gives me a chance to up my income a bit further still (when it kicks in).

I'm in a state of flux now just waiting for the new regimen to start - I did all my ironing so there is no mad panic on Monday morning and have printed off all the officialdom that I need. Have meal planned for most of the dinners next week to come out of the SC and now I just want to get on with it!!

I've looked at changing our bank account to a reward account - its with the same bank as we are with so we dont change account number etc so I dont have to change any DD and it costs £2 per month and get 1% on all household bills paid by DD - which I work out to £7 pm. We also get £150 cashback for changing - anyway application done and I should know in 5 days if its gone thru apparently.

At the same time as being on there I rounded up the pennies again - another 40p into a savings pot, I do it every time I go on there now and the last of the monthly bills went thru today so all good there. £254 to last me till the end of the month so going ok.

freezers and cupboards full, over half a tank of petrol in the car and payday for the new job is end of the month so should be able to get thru till then with no issues. all good and ticking along nicely.
  • Hi Catandy

Sounds like you have the finances under control and you sound more relaxed.
I have a reward account and it does all add up, good news sbout the incentive payment for changing the account also.

change of bank account approved and gone thru - the new monthly fee and % back on direct debits starts from next month so all good.

income including cashback on account at the end of the month stands at 1200 which means that we can actually pay all the bills that need to be paid and have something left over at the end of the month - wow!

first day at new job completed and I am totally exhausted - 11 hour day out of the house in total and then I got home to realise I needed to nip out and get some milk. only spend of the day though so not all bad - pay day at the new job is this Friday and I expect to pick up around 825, theres 196 left in the bank and the 150 for changing the account type hits the account 1st. need to sit down at some stage and work out how I am going to divvy it up next month.

I got full details of the commission system today and that works out as a minimum of 580pm and £1000+ if I hit target - obviously those figures are gross of nics and income tax. commissions are paid a month in arrears so I need them to kick in...

and now I need sleep so I can get up and do it all again... :p
