  • Morning all.

Pink - hope DS improves by the day and lovely to hear that he seems to be coping with it so well.

Gingham - well done at the graduation this week. Very impressed.

Beautifully sunny here today and washing is whirly in the machine. It's crispy cold tho, but I love these wintery mornings.
DS1 just emailed me to say that he got through his first drive in the morning rush hour fine. (he knows his mums a worry guts  )

Going to whizz round and get the necessary jobs done in the house so that I can take the rest of the day off with DH. Fancy a trip to town to saunter round the shops and window shop.

Chicken and mushroom pie for tea tonight, curtesy of Tesco finest (reduced to 30p :D )

    Have a great Monday everyone.

feeling a bit ropey this morning - I only had three drinks last night but now i remember that the lads looking after the bar at the wedding were pouring half vodka and half mixer.

day off today - am spending the morning catchng up with some knitting and paperwork and then going off to see celebrity mastermind being recorded - I watch very little tv so I probably won't recognise anyone but it will be fun.

Have a good day and hugs to everyone feeling poorly (me included) and esp the Pinks

    Morning everyone :hello:

Another person with the lurgy here too. :( I've had a sore throat for a couple of weeks and I'd lost my voice when I woke up this morning. It's interesting when you try to phone in sick at work, but you can't speak properly. DH ordered me to go to the docs, so I've just booked an appointment for later this morning.

Pink - I hope that Adam is on the mend soon.

As for other news, DH and I went to Dublin on Saturday to watch my "boys" against Leinster. We had a great day, but it's probably why I've lost my voice - and they lost! However, we made the most of it by also visiting the Guinness Storehouse. Well worth going to (and because I'd booked online we got a 10% discount!!!).

Anyway, time to go and get dressed. I hope that my class aren't running rings around the supply teacher. :o

aimee - I will defo be watching the jungle its my favourite reality

Well I have lots of work to do today to clear my desk for the week. Off to Dublin tomorrow for a couple of days:j :j cant wait. Its my mums birthday pressy (its her birthday on Weds - same day as Prince Charles:D ) we have pretty much stopped buying each other useless gifts now and just go for a couple of couple of day breaks during the year instead. I have booked a really lovely looking little hotel right in the centre. Plans include the open top bus tour of the city and the guinness storehouse tour (which my dad will love). It will be fairly chilled as they are not late night clubbers anymore :D but they do get up at unearthly hours to start the day - not my idea of a holiday but it is for them so I will have to take my alarm:eek:

So in order to enjoy all that I need to get lots of work done , then lots of ironing then lots of packing:D busy day ahead

    Have a great Monday all
    Hugs Nels xx
  • Good morning everyone. Late start or me - DD has her first GCSE exam today (modular maths) and is really nervous. She'll be fine, but is dreading it.

Pink - huge hugs for you.:grouphug:

Haribo - everything crossed for your hospital visit.:grouphug: Pity you're not here today - I have a day of housework planned, and would like to impress you again :D;)

Tru and VickyA - hope you feel better soon :grouphug:

Hester - loved the story about your lodger's phone :rotfl:

Got a pile of OS books from the library, including Forgotten Household Crafts, by the legend who is John Seymour. Will be trying to see if I can get hold of a copy.

Made toffee apple bread and butter pudding for tea last night - delicious. Will post the recipe later - it's a great way to use up eating apples.

Take a  :coffee: :grouphug: :hello: as you choose.

He doesn't really understand and was quite frightened. I hope he get's in like DH as I had it every hour. His diarrohea hasn't started yet.

Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

  • Morning all,

It's pretty cold and frosty here. The decorator is here doing the hall, stairs and landing (dh hasn't got the time) - has been since last Tues. It's more disrupting than I anticipated as it's difficult to move round the house - I'm pinned in the sittingroom and kitchen.

Will try another little trip out on the bike later. I also need to go to Tesco as I have lost 2 baking sheets:eek: . Have turned out all the cupboards, checked the garage, checked the car:rolleyes: - they've gone!

Packed lunch for ds2 - reduced cornish pasty, tortilla chips and some l/o fruit punch - which was very nice. For 1 jug: 300ml orange juice, 150ml pineapple juice, juice of half a lemon, 50g sugar, ice cubes and 500ml of ginger ale. The original recipe was double that - but it didn't fit in my jug:D

Lunch for me - jacket potato, dinner will be sweet and sour spare ribs and rice and veggies.

Need to do some urgent baking as well - no bread or cakes in at all - we spent all weekend hill walking - I'm having a quiet day today!

Hope everying is ok at the hospital, Pink - thinking of you.

    Morning everyone
Hope you all had a good weekend.
Well, we were rudely awoken this morning by next door playing really loud music. It's been going on for a while, but never so early. One of today's tasks will be phoning noise nuisance.
The house is relatively tidy, although there's a bit of ironing to do and a load for the WM. BM will be going on shortly, although DDs want baguettes rather than a loaf today.
I'm starting to prepare for winter so have some curtains that need lining to go up at the doors. Very OS, as mom gave me two pairs which I am sewing together to make two seperate door curtains. One's done and up, so hopefully the other will be sorted today.
Good luck at the hospital today HariboJunkie.
Enjoy your week off work snowy.
    Pink, hope DS feels better. !!!!!!{hugs}}}}
Hope you're feeling better soon too AIME399.
Thriftlady, my dad's just made some quince jam, and it's very nice. I had not heard of quince before. The quince vodka sounds very nice too.
Hope you feel better aftre the 'chat' catowen. I've been there before with my two, but it is easier as they have got older.
Hopefully you will be feeling a whole load better soon Tru, by cutting back on work.

Hope everyone has a great day.
