  • Morning all:hello:

It's a frosty one this morning, think I'll stay in once I've got back from school and Tesco.

I've chicken stock and quincemeat to make today. I must make a list of ingredients for my Christmas pud and cake too. Think I'll roast some sunflower seeds for hm munchy seeds too.

Porridge is definitely in order for breakfast today.

Lunchboxes have salami sandwiches, banana-choc chip muffins and apples.

Supper will be an Elizabeth David recipe of Emincés de volailles au gratin or leftover chicken in a cheese sauce :p -sounds lovely. I'm serving it with riz and salade de tomates -oh la la ! Might make the kids some fruit in jelly.

Catowen hope you're feeling more cheerful this morning ;)
  • Good Morning All

Have got Monday feeling this morning. Today am in my office trying to get as much done as possible so I can go to the hairdressers guilt free tomorrow. I did all the ironing yesterday and have 4 shirts to iron that dried overnight. I will be doing them 1st thing - more washing to do today but at least will have a empty basket for a while.

Oh is going to potter around the house today - hopefully not getting in my way. No idea whats for dinner tonight - we are trying to empty our big chest freezer so this week will be getting something from there everyday and I wont be doing any food shopping until its empty.

Later today will make a list of the Xmas pressies I have for everyone then will get the few remaining items and hopefully wrap them this week. I havnt bought anything for the kids yet as they change their mind so many times but will start those in a week or so.

Anyway off for a surf then need to make lunches.

Moiliere - I didnt know that - I dont go on there often but always thanked people.

    Hi folks,
Haven't posted on a daily thread for such a long time. I'm usually at work when you guys get up and don't feel like jumping aboard when the ride's nearly over!

Been a busy day here, have just sat down finally for the first real rest since 8am (and it's 5.30 here). I'm feeling smug with Delias xmas cake in the oven and jars of mincemeat, tomato onion chutney and pickled cucumbers all tucked away now. Finally feel like I'm making some small progress towards Xmas now.

Had a strange incident whilst bottling my chutney, a guy knocked on the door telling me he was here to install my flyscreen.... What had happened was a few weeks ago we called for a quote, but no-one ever got back to us, so we gave up on the company. It turns out he came, measured up, made it (presuming we'd ok'd a quote) and had arrived for the fitting. When I explained my surprise, he knocked a large amount off the quote (I only know that since we'd had a couple of other quotes since) and installed it. OH is going to get the shock of his life when he gets home, not to mention the bill LOL!

    Good morning everyone,

THANK YOU for all the lovely comments last night (and the PMs, i will get to reply today) still not feeling good, children still in bed so not sure how today is going to go - but as they are at school, its going to be tonight that we sit down together, so hopefully i will have calmed down and they will have thought about their behaviour!!!

2 LOs here this morning, and i have a lovely big box for one of them to play in (the other one doesnt move yet!!!) so i think that will go down well.

Haribo - good luck today xx

    Have a lovely day everyone,
    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Just had a phone call to say LO poorly, so only the baby here today, so i will either get more done than i thought, or will spend more time on here - hmmmmmmmmm!!!!

Mum rang last night she wants to get some christmas shopping done but in the town nearest to me but my dad isnt wel lenough to venture out that far plus he wouldnt be able to cope with all the walking and she doesnt so shes asked me if i can meet her this morning i havent got any money except bus fare and maybe a fiver at the most be as long as she buys the coffees i dont mind tagging along and its probably things for the kids shes buying anyway so i'll be able to help her with sizes when the kids were little she used to buy things a few sizes to big which meant at least they lasted a good while but now she tends to buy on the small size.
oh has asked for fish cooked under the grill with milk and butter for tea he likes it with served withjust bread and butter so he can dip it in the milk .

For those who do the comps (I've yet to be successful although I have done quite a few lately), I did some yesterday and posted a 'thank you' for each of them but then later I had a pm asking me not to do that because it 'bumps' the thread. I have no idea what 'bumping' the thread means and I done this before with no problems. I notice that other people post 'thank yous' as well so I'm wondering what I did wrong. Rule 7 of the board rules was quoted but that doesn't say what 'bumping' means. I hope one of you lovely people can enlighten me?

What people normally do on the comps board, is use the thanks button as a way of 1, saying thank you, and 2, to show they have already entered that competition. As most people also enter a lot of the comps, if someone types thank you and 'bumps' up the post, there is a risk that someone could enter the competition again, thinking its a newer one (if they havnt noticed if they have used the thanks button) - and as most comps are only 1 entry per person, this will then disqualify them from that comp, so thats why the board guides tend to like people to use the button, rather than being polite!!!

    Morning All.

Back from London and back at work. I had a great time. We did an open top bus tour - all snuggled under a sleeping blanket on the top deck to keep warm! Then we went to Yo Sushi before seeing Mary Poppins in So Ho. The following day was the Lord Mayor's Parade, which we watched from the Thames, as we did a boat trip to Greenwich. Went out clubbing when we got back home in the evening.

Just eaten a slice of HM barmbrac for breakfast, was nicer than usual if that's possible. Nearly time for another cuppa.

Must get petrol today, have a 5p off a litre at Tesco. Dread to think how much it is a litre at the mo. Seen prices well over a pound in some places. At least I can claim the mileage to the station back - got a work appointment near by!!!:T :rotfl:

Also need to get a bit of shopping. Got lots of clubcard points vouchers to use up. Had the Christmas vouchers arrive the other day - £12.50 worth. Saving them for when I get in the flat, as they will help pay for some groceries for me.

Hope everyone's ok and hugs to those feeling down, ill or sleepy

    Morning all

Mr tru suggested going to the doctor to rule out depression, I was angry at first but then thought it was a fair comment, I've had depression before and it makes me see the world a bit wonky  :D But I was on my own for most of yesterday - mr tru was at work, the mini-trus were out with their mates - and I spent most of the day going over everything and working out what to say to the doc (I'm not very good at explaining myself lol). It was actually starting to sound like I was just moaning because I couldn't get my own way :rotfl: I know what kicks the depression off anyway - I start getting nervous about leaving the house and that isn't happening to me at the mo.

So, I'm going to town later for an hour then popping in to see a friend. This friend just happens to be married to my boss :D Thinking about it, technically she's my boss too because she's one of the directors (company secretary) :D I have to drop some paperwork off to their house anyway so I'm going to tell her what's been going on and that I'll have to give up the work's mobile phone. I can't actually speak to mr boss til after 5pm so it'll be good to hear any suggestions from her too. I'm happy to still go in a couple of times a week to pick up the post/do the banking etc. and all the info is on a server so I can spend an hour a day working from home, keeping everything up to date.

I've also laid the law down a bit with the kids - 'I'm happy to do X, but I won't do Z' type of thing.

Nothing's actually changed yet but I feel sooooooo relieved already.

I've usually got Christmas organised by now but I haven't even started yet :o I feel like I can get on with it now :T

No OS today....:j Just lots of driving and being prodded.....Thanks to those of you who wished me well. :A
Looking forward to some peace to see a few shops while I'm there and treat myself to a big frothy coffee somewhere.

I know Pink is heading up to the Hospital early today so she may not get a chance to post before she goes. Still no real news but I wish I lived closer. icon9.gif

    Have a happy Monday everyone....
