:hello::hello::hello:Good morning everyone!!

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for today. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

I woke up a bit early, so decided to get the daily started. I see from the tail end of yesterday's thread that HariboJunkie has a visit to the hozzie today. Good luck with that HJ.

It's time for me to roll my sleeves up and get on with some actual Old Styling. Just in case you'd forgotten, I have a week off wo*k. So while I basically wasted the weekend I want to get loads done this week as I'm living in a human pigsty.

It's nice to get away from the playground politics of wo*k for a week. There was a row between a woman in her 30s and a woman in her 40s recently, over what I have no idea. You'd think they would know how to behave by now. And as for the back-stabbing and nastiness...well, it makes Anne Robinson look like a saint...

Pink - I hope that DS1 is making some progress, and that they have a firm diagnosis by now.

Haribo - good luck at the hozzie today.

Shez - aren't you up yet????

Hope everyone is feeling good. Happy Monday!

Snowy

Good morning Snowy & all to follow,

Just been doing a few bits and bobs today but not pushing myself. Still feeling a bit squirmy, I'm sure I'll be right as rain tomorrow. I hope to make my ginger beer tomorrow. I've been feeding it daily for 7 days like the recipe says. :D Also I will need to do baking & DH has brought upstairs about 50 tomatoes so will dig out some chutney recipes. But that's tomorrow. ;)

Snowy Enjoy your week off. No pear cider over here yet. ;)
Haribo Hope you've got everything trimmed by now. :D I'm sure all will go well at the hospital.
Well I hope you all have a happy day and (((hugs))) to those who aren't well. Byeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

Good morning snowy, Aussie and all to follow. :D

Just a quick one before I get off to work. All is well and the children and I will be sorting out their toys after work as we have more than I realised after decorating the 1st bedroom. We will then get them off to a charity shop (rspca) and then reclaim some space in the bedroom.

OH is going to make a start on the 2nd bedroom today and soon dd1 will have her own room.

Spag bol for tea tonight I think, nice and easy and then there's a mega pile of ironing to do later on.

Pink I hope DS1 is feeling a little better and good luck to Haribo today.

MouseHUGS-W1-1.jpg to all in need today.

  • Morning all and everyone that follows

SMOKEY you swore, you mentioned ironing! I would rather clean the toilet and avoid it as much as poss.

Pheasant was very nice yesterday, but why do men make such a mess in the kitchen and use every single pot and utensil? I know because he never washes up.

Shopping today, plus want to make my Xmas puds. Am so late this year, keep pretending Xmas is not happening. At least I've managed to save some money towards it, although this year has been a real struggle with all sorts of financial suprises.

Also need to get on with some studying:eek:

Hope those of you who are unwell and have appointments feel better soon :A xxxxx

    Morning All!
Just a quick one from me. Finally got my pressies sorted out last night, so I can see what I've got! Some hampers still in progress, and wrapped OH's so he can't find em! Started to write my cards too, will finish them tonight.

Work for the next two and a half days. Honestly, work gets in the way of my life!:rotfl: The year 5's are doing "Jack and the Beanstalk" loads of work for us, we must be mad!
DD is 21 on Sundday, so taking her out for a Chinese meal. She had a party for her 18th. I've paid for her ticket to "Take That" next month instead. She's so excited she's like a two year old:rotfl:

((((((((((HUGS)))))))))) to all who need them.

    Have a good day!

Thick frost here this morning, Brrrr.
I'm sure my cutting off the lodgers call will have no effect, she can''t seem to remember anything for more than a few minutes.
She's now decided to buy a car, it has to be an automatic as she doesn't have a licence!!!!! I told her about needing a licence, insurance & paying road tax but I don't think she's going to bother. I'm not too worried as she believes she'll get a really good nearly new car for £300 & I'm pretty sure she won't. All she keeps asking me is how many miles a car doest to a litre of petrol, like I'd know that, I don't even know for my own car, all I know is it costs me £10 a fortnight in petrol and I've tried to tell her it depends on the size/make/age of car, but she doesn't understand that. Still she wan't be going far as she's convinced all the petrol stations are manned, so she'll sit & wait for someone to fill her car up for her for a while.
    I'm off to work now.
Hope everyone has a good day.

Morning to all who have posted, will post while I am posting and those yet to post.

HARIBO - good luck to you at the hospital. Give my love to Pink and Master Pink.

FRUGAL - sorry to hear about your Nan.

AUSSIE - hope you feel better soon.

SMOKY - (((hugs))) to you and DH.

CATOWEN - have just read the rest of yesterday's thread and sorry you're feeling down about ungrateful children. All kids are like that when they are young and still living at home - my two were, but they're completely different now. They soon work it out for themselves how much you do for them Both mine have left home now and are so appreciative for every little thing I do for them and grateful for the childhoods they had. Yours won't always seem ungrateful, I promise.

For those who do the comps (I've yet to be successful although I have done quite a few lately), I did some yesterday and posted a 'thank you' for each of them but then later I had a pm asking me not to do that because it 'bumps' the thread. I have no idea what 'bumping' the thread means and I done this before with no problems. I notice that other people post 'thank yous' as well so I'm wondering what I did wrong. Rule 7 of the board rules was quoted but that doesn't say what 'bumping' means. I hope one of you lovely people can enlighten me?

Had a nice day with SIL yesterday; I think it did her good to chat about what she had been through when MIL was ill and died in Cyprus and she loved the cakes I'd made. The rest of the day was quite lazy - I did some knitting whilst watching the Strictly results - yet again, I was not happy with who was voted off - I hope they change the system for next year because the judges are not enjoying the dance-off this year. We've lost some really good dancers this season. Oh well, it makes good viewing and that's what it's all about, I suppose.

Dinner today is bubble & squeak with sausages and onions, followed by bread & butter pudding using leftover HM rolls - I made the rolls on Thursday and they've kept really well. DH has taken the last of them in his packed lunch. I also have a huge pile of i*o*ing to do, a bit of shopping and a visit to the gym. This afternoon, I have some work to do and might make a start on my Christmas cards and wrapping-up.

Well, off to have a shower so see you later and hope everyone has a good day.

HESTER - I think you should start another blog about that lodger of yours! I don't know how you cope with her.

    Mioliere,

I think bumping means that it brings an older post back to the top page, so it may have been a comp from yesterday, but by thanking someone you have bought it back to the first page, so it looks like a new thread, sometimes people do it if they want a post to stay on the first page, they just type 'bump' and it refreshes the post. • Morning

Really frosty here this morning, so time to get the woolly hat and gloves out. Lots of pack and wrap to do today for Ebay sales, so a good excuse to stay inside in the warm

Good luck at the hozzie Haribo.

Left over chickn in a white wine sauce tonight, and maybe sponge pudding and custard to keep out the cold :p I'm a Celebrity starts tonight, so looking forward to that - doesn't look like Katie out of the Apprentice is in there, shame, I was looking forward to that.

    Hope everyone is OK x
