    Mioliere,

I think bumping means that it brings an older post back to the top page, so it may have been a comp from yesterday, but by thanking someone you have bought it back to the first page, so it looks like a new thread, sometimes people do it if they want a post to stay on the first page, they just type 'bump' and it refreshes the post. REDRUBY - thank you so much for the explanation - I can see what 'bumping' means, now! The pm I had was written in a very 'cross' tone and it would have been helpful if the poster had explained what 'bumping' meant. I knew I could count on someone here helping me. Thanks again! By the way, I hope the frost does clear in Littlehampton this morning - my DH is working there, outside and up a ladder! Hopefully, he's well covered!

Pink/haribo hope all goes ok today and that master Pink is on the mend x

Mioliere - I agree with you, Penny should not have been kicked out! makes you wonder who will be going next?

Am off out shortly to see Mum before she goes away for a few days to devon, then off to do a small cleaning job.Got to ring the school later about DS2  not looking forward to that.
DH still at home with his sciatica.
feeling a bit rough myself, possibly sinusitus - got a tingly sort of pain around my eye and down by my nose, also have a slight cold.

Hi - hust back on here with a coffee.

    (((hugs))) to TRU.

AMIE - take good care of yourself today and enjoy your 'me' time! Hope the cold doesn't develop. As regards men - they really don't listen. That's exactly what my DH would do. You have to explain every single thing to him; I always make him repeat what I've just told him - it always worked with the kids!

CATOWEN - thanks for the explanation about 'bumping'! I'm tempted to pm the 'cross' poster back and advise them to explain 'bumping' to anyone else who does it.

SOFTSTUFF - welcome to you. I bet it's warmer there than it is here!

Well, the sun is shining so I may hang the washing out. Trouble is, you have to bring it back in so early these days. Still, it's good to get the fresh air on it.

Well, must clear up breakfast things - I've cleaned upstairs, downstairs to tackle now then I'll put the ironing board up - just as decoration, you know!

    See ya!

    Good Morning all,

((((((((((((hugs to all who feel uncertain)))))))))))))))))

Hester you should write a book about your experiences with that lodger - I can just imagine her sitting in the forecourt with a huge, hooting queue building up behind her, then charming the attendant into filling the tank!

Fingers crossed (not literally in my case), I think the flare up is starting to turn, thank goodness. I was able to do a bit of ironing and hoovering yesterday, it hurt but was not impossible so my grip is returning.

Wearing my OS hat, today I am going to post the last E-bay parcels and claim for the 2 last did not arrive. The sideboard is not going to escape today, either!

Dinner is going to be HM pasta bake: leftover chicken with onion, mushroom, frozen mixed veggies and the end of the £1 bag of pasta (which now costs £1.99!!! in Tesco).

    Have a great OS day!

    Morning all,

Mrs Flittersnoop, I’ll be thinking of you on Wednesday.
Aussie, I’m glad to hear that you’re feeling a bit better. Try to take it easy.
    donny-gal, have a great time!
catowen, don’t let it get you down…it’s clear to all of us what a great mum you are. Give them time and they’ll appreciate that too.
    cheerfulness, congrats to your ds
Taplady, sorry to hear dh isn’t well. I hope he feels better soon.
frugalpie, I was sorry to hear about your nan.
    tru, <<<hugs>>>
Haribo, thankyou for everything. I hope all goes well for you today. Please don’t rush home…it will do you good to take some time out for yourself. :kisses3:

Just a quickie from me as I want to get to the hospital before the ward round, but I couldn’t go without saying thankyou so much for all your kind thoughts and good wishes for Adam. The support from all of you has meant more than you can know. :A :A :A :A :A

He had flu-like symptoms last week and I kept him off school and just treated him with paracetamol etc. Then late on Friday night he called me to the bathroom because his urine was a ‘funny colour’. It was deep red!!! It was obvious to me that he was bleeding from somewhere, so we took him (and a sample) to the GP first thing on Saturday morning and she sent him straight to A&E. After lots of tests he was admitted. According to the doctors he had a very severe strep throat and his immune system has overreacted and started to attack his kidneys, leading to a condition called glomerulonephritis.

There hasn’t been much change since then. He’s weak and tired and keeps spiking very high temperatures, but when the temp comes down he’s his usual cheerful self and is quite enjoying being spoiled. The doctors seem pleased that it was caught early and are hopeful for a complete recovery. At the moment they are monitoring him hourly and doing lots of blood and kidney function tests but they can’t give us any indication yet of when he’ll be ready to come home.

Oh dear, it wasn’t the quick post I’d intended. Sorry if I’ve bored you all to tears.

Needless to say I’ve done nothing even remotely OS. The house is a tip and for once I really don’t give stuff.

I’ll look in again when I can, and thankyou all so much for your lovely posts and pm’s.

    I've been Money Tipped!
    :hello: Good Morning!

First hugs to all those who need them including

(((Hugs))) to Pink and master Pink, such a worry when they are so poorly, hopefully they will now get him sorted and better asap.

    (((hugs))) to haribo as well.

(((hugs))) Tru - first line of defence I find is to cut down on work and to rest up a bit, well done! hopefully you will soon be feeling much better.

Catowen - I agree with what others have said, your children love you very much and feel very secure with you as you are a wonderful Mum, so it wouldn't have ocurred to them that what they said would have hurt you, believe me when they are older they will remember which parent had time for them and was always there for them.

Well today I am trying to keep busy as my friend is in the London Hospital and due to have major surgery today, poor girl it will be her 12th op in just a few years. Fingers crossed everyone there are no complications this time and she can come home soon. I will be off to the flylady thread later as that helps to focus me.

Really proud of dd as not only has she just been promoted at work but she also reduced her food bill down to £20 by stock taking and menu planning, it really does work!

Penny starts at puppy class tonight!

    Hello all
Just a quickie today as Im quite busy with present making.
Asda yesterday was having a brainstorm or something as they actually had loads of reduced items that were worth having. I stocked up on tinned fruit for the xmas hols and cocoa and milk. Managed to save £9 in all.
Later on I popped into the charity shop (yes open on sunday) and found a lino cutting set for £4. I've always fancied this hobby but the tools are quite pricey so I snapped it up.:)
I even found some good shoes for £1.50. My feet are small and wide so if I see shoes that fit, they are usually grabbed quick else they are gone the next time and I regret it.
Hugs to all who are in need of one.
    Have a good day

  • Pink, I'm glad they know what's going on and he's getting treated properly. I hope he's home soon. (HUGS)

Tru, WELL DONE! sounds like you're handling things very well.

I'm going to a graduation this week and only have jeans that fit me so I need to go get a cheapish but smart outfit. (Weight just not shifting, having to accept that and get on with it for now.) Will be good to celebrate with my friend. She's worked SO hard - got a first and did a fantastic job of looking after her daughter while she was at it.

Made a marrow lasagne last night and it was lush. Tonight it's carrot and potato curry to use up the last of the delivery.

    Take care of yourselves.
May all your dots fall silently to the ground.
