Correct billing is a basic requirement for all utility companies. its simply not good enough

BTW The last two companies I have been with have both gone bust. Will I never learn.

Don't follow me to green. Then please crispianne3. I'm sure symbio won't go bust but it does seem as if this overbilling is a bit of an exercise in cash grabbing (maybe because they intend to launch gas in near future who knows). I suppose it could be a simple error like the double billing in June but I suspect its not

It is actually a regulatory requirement so likely to get them on the naughty step.

    My daughter's actual consumptions have been 651, 633 & 685, Jan estimate 1076.

I'd be suprised if someone hadn't mentioned it to ofgem. Trustpilot is just as full of complaints regarding this matter as thid forum and Internet posters will just be the tip of the iceberg. The silent majority will be ringing up tomorrow or taking matters further

Haven't received an email yet, but my parents account which I manage also seems to have estimated double the usage than we would expect - and we also supply monthly readings.

At this rate, they will have virtually no income next month, due to the level of refunds they will need to give next month to reflect this bills overinflated estimates

    I have a similar disparity.
Last year Nov, Dec, Jan were - 295, 289, 277.
This year Nov, Dec were - 269, 270.
    Symbio Jan estimate - 567.

Ah but they could aways overestimate February's bills too gt94sss2

In theory they can charge us what they like. The overestimation hasn't been explained so we have no idea what form of hyroglypic mathematics have been used to come up with these ludicrous bills

Of course some people will ring up. Get the bills corrected but a lot of people will just leave it and as you say expect the overcharge to be deducted from the next inflated bill in February thus achieving a constant credit balance on your account but in symbios bank account

I will pay what they claim I will use but it will be the last payment from me as I'll be left by February 1st

Glad to read people are waking up and smelling the Nescaf.

They (Symbio) don't deserve our money.

I said as much months ago.

Exactly, my December billing was over estimated, January's billing estimate is ridiculous and double from my previous monthly bills.

I contacted Symbio on the December bill who promised to change my billing to a fixed direct debit amount. However, they have not carried out this promise for the fixed direct debit amount.

To me this is very worrying they have not adhered to the agreement by setting the dd to a fixed amount. They have agreed this for me so if they try and take the inflated amount asked I will get the amount back via the dd guarantee.
