They seem to change the meter readings I submit.
Never had them change a read. Are you submitting on the last day of the month ? - that is the only read they will use and if not submitted they will use a way off the mark estimate.

I have been with Symbio since December and submit a meter reading on the last day of every month. Bills have been spot on and I still have another 12 months at 12p/kWh so I am a satisfied customer at the moment.

I think I will give it a couple of months and see how the land lies.  I'm just a bit gutted as I said to my OH that I'd stop being tight and actually put our v expensive electric heating on this winter. I had budgeted an extra spend of £30 a month only to find that prices have shot up and I've got to pay that without the heating!!

I've been with then for over 18 months and have never once submitted a meter read photo with my reading. My readings are always accepted.

Same here. I have a " pointy needle" meter. I doubt anyone at Symbio is capable of reading it and don't want to risk the consequences of them trying.

They seem to be late with the bills for July. Normally mine is produced by now.

This month's actual is 302kWh compared to their estimate of 616kWh. I think that's the first time they've exceeded 100% over-estimation.
Well they obviously know something I don't because July's estimate is even higher at 630kWh!!

Even using their stupid EAC of 5600kWh that just doesn't make any sense, because 630x12 is 7560.

Actual 12 month rolling EAC is 4250kWh.

They appear to be using standard formula. Mine is exactly the same as yours...... (EAC÷12) + 35%

Last month mine was +25% and +20% the month before that. Goodness knows what it will be over the winter!

Having had to complain hard to get my EAC reduced from 7000+ to 5000 (which is still more than actual), I can feel another complaint coming on.

Good to know nothing changes. Made the mistake of not sending in my meter reading on the 30th June!

    Today's bill:
18 days actual consumption June - 290 (mid month reading submitted)
12 days estimated consumption June - 420 (see the problem?)
Total estimated usage June - 710
Pro rata actual usage - 480
Overestimate for June - 230 units

Estimate for July - based on the estimate for June - 1050
Overestimate for July - based on June pro rata - 570 units

Total units likely to be overcharged by end July - 800

My fault - I know how it works - but I wont forget next month!

I have a monthly alarm on my phone, as both Symbio & Zog want last day of month readings.

Since Symbio stopped sending reading reminders their bank balance must have increased significantly!

Monthly estimates of 100%+ appear to be the norm. But lending them £50 is a small inconvenience for the cheapest kWh out there.
