Symbio Energy feedback

My bill just came in at -£0.25. Hopefully, as per my previous negative bills, they won't be taking a DD next month. I'm due to leave these clowns by the end of summer due to a house move so would like my credit balance to be as low as possible.I used 66 kWh last month and these muppets still estimate next month's usage to be 340kWh.0

Had a phone call today from Utility Smart on behalf of Symbio asking to install smart meters.
I've had them for the best part of two years. Muppets.0 -
Wait, what??Tallerdave said:Since Symbio stopped sending reading reminders their bank balance must have increased significantly!
I'd been sending them meter readings when asked for, then they suddenly stopped and I assumed it's because they'd tapped into the smart meter that I had installed when I used to be with Bulb. So, maybe they aren't using my smart meter readings and just decided to stop asking me for readings?!0 -
Have a look at a bill in the "Type" column: "C" stands for Customer, "E" stands for Estimate. I don't have a smart meter so I don't know if there is another letter for a smart meter reading. "S" for a Smart reading (according to the bill).Cantisque said:

They stopped asking everyone for meter readings via email a few months ago in the hope that people forget so they can whack up their estimates and sit on more customer cashCantisque said:

Don't assume, check your bills EVERY month. If you're the sort of person who doesn't check the bills and just likes to let everything go out automatically, then symbio isn't the perfect fit. You have to be on the ball with them.Cantisque said:

Since nobody has reported that they're still receiving meter reading reminders, I assume they've stopped sending them intentionally so that more customers forget and their overestimates aren't reconciled. Which leads to extra months of overpayment cash sitting in Symbio's bank account.0

Certainly no issue for July regarding their estimates. I have checked online and no bill has been produced for this period.
Last year there was a time when the bills stopped being produced. I then tried log in only to be told the account was closed. After a few telephone calls they reopened the account and off we went again.0 -
Something's up because your bill always arrives well before mine. My bill was timed at 16:15 yesterday, with the direct debit notification coming in 29 minutes later. They're really pushing to get the cash in as early in the month as possible!CRISPIANNE3 said:Certainly no issue for July regarding their estimates. Amazingly, they did react to my comment that after a tariff change, they credit for reconciled overestimates at the wrong unit rate. I don't know whether their correction is accurate as it resulted in 3 replacement bills which are all in the usual convoluted style. But the figure was negative so it's all good! Whether they will fix their billing system is anyone's guess!0 -
I will just put the monies aside until such time they produce a bill. Also will continue to give my monthly readings in the hope this will spur them into action.Tallerdave said:
