I wonder if they'll go bust rather than pay? Cashflow is king was always impressed on me.

niktheguru said:I suppose you could, but is it worth the wait?. It certaintly is shady/irritating/unfair practice. However, it didn't impact on the date of my switch in the end. I'm sure most people who want to switch just want to move ASAP rather than prolong it with an ombudsman complaint for a measly £30.I'm not in a position to need to personally. I was just curious whether anyone had taken this particular issue to the Ombudsman and gotten a conclusion.

Judging by the 100k fine, it might be wise to switch out sooner rather than later!1

Here's the details of the fine. Continually break rules and it catches up with you. I still can't believe I had a manager begging me not to contact ofgem over their late payment of credit refund to me. Eventually I gave up chasing my 60 pounds compensation but I can still hear the managers pleas now https://www.ofgem.gov.uk/publications-and-updates/notice-decision-impose-financial-penalty-symbio-energy-following-our-enforcement-case-its-compliance-renewable-obligation-and-feed-tariff-orders1

After waiting for nearly three months from leaving for Symbio to issue me with a final invoice, they finally have - approximately one week away from the 8 week ombudsman escalation.
Regardless, I will be pursuing Symbio (and then the Ombudsman) for my £60 'automati'c compensation for delayed final bill/ no payment within 10 working days:
A. because it's now a point of principal. This awful company should be and need to be held to account and financially penalised.
B. £60 actually isn't to be sniffed at!

£30 for failure to issue a final bill within 6 weeks of leaving.
£30 for failure to pay me the above £30 within 10 working days of it becoming due.
£30 for failure to pay me the above £30 within 10 working days of it becoming due.

????By credit balance I mean they owe you a credit refund, that has to be paid within 10 working days of final bill, if not £30 compensation, if that £30 compensation is not paid within a further 10 days then a further/additional £30 is due, plus final bill delay £30 compensationScreenshot refers to "additional standard payment £30",If £30 compensation for late final bill is not paid automatically possibility of another additional £30, I have never come across that scenarioBest not to chase them until after deadlines have passed

I don't know why they call it automatic compensation though. You still have to chase it. I gave up0
