I'm happy to submit a meter picture because I trust them as much as they trust their customer!rp1974 said:Just what is their obsession with meter pictures?,some strange electrical fetish perhaps?.My fix is ending October 1st,considering elsewhere though Symbio still among the cheapest, with the added entertainment thrown in.In the past year they have encouraged pictures, discouraged pictures several times, just make a decision and stick to it.Dont mind really, just sort of resent the pictures or your lying attitude.Shiny new webpage for quotes as well,interesting...ish.0 -
Meter read est 308 actual 346. No doubt I will be punished with a very over inflated estimated bill for September.0

So you actually used 38 units more than they thought, so unless the month was unusual it means they need to increase the estimate to anticipate that both you use more than they expect and because people usually use more in Sept than August.CRISPIANNE3 said:Meter read est 308 actual 346. If they do "punish" you and overestimate, then it will come right the following month when you show you used less and they rebate back towards the next bill.
Due to furlough and WFH my usage increased as everyone was at home, which as a knock on pushed up my estimate but I got a big rebate after. It all evens itself out. If you don't like their estimates, you can either opt for seasonal fixed if you need to know how much is coming out each month, or switch.1 -
Prefer to pay by variable amounts each month. My comment was just a tongue and cheek remark.nic_c said:

Scores on the doors:Symbio estimate 189 unitsActual usage 117 unitsLooking forward to another negative bill again next month. I wonder if they fail to take my fixed DD again like last month due to this? At least I wont be in credit when they go bust.0

August 2020Symbio estimation: 16% below EAC/12
Actual usage: 22% below EAC/12Now into year 2 with an EAC 7% lower than year 1. Let's see what happens on the bill this month. They've gone over the top with meter reading emails this month, the final one arriving 20 minutes after they sent the acknowledgement for my meter readings!!
Surely you won't get a negative bill unless their estimate for next month is less than 72 units??Swipe said:Scores on the doors:Symbio estimate 189 unitsActual usage 117 unitsLooking forward to another negative bill again next month. I have now changed my original post regarding my new bill. On checking again they estimate I will now use 307 units for September even though my actual usage in August was 346 against a forecast of 308. Not quite sure why they think my usage is going to be lower for the current month. Perhaps because there are only 30 days in this month.CRISPIANNE3 said:Meter read est 308 actual 346. No bill posted yet but DD notification received and Sep usage showing on account.Their renewal seems a bit of a mess. Despite the e-mails stating change to new tariff on 1st October they seem to have changed my daughter's account to the new tariff already, her 1 year point was 2nd Sep and we assumed the e-mails meant they would, as many do, carry on until the end of the month. I am still trying to figure how they can move you to an expensive 12 month with exit fee tariff without a positive acceptance of that tariff rather than an opt out. Also the first notification of ending tariff, which was a totally corrupted e-mail, was received on 4th August so 2 to 3 weeks too late for the 42-49 day notification. They really do seem to break every one of their licence conditions !
