I think the whole Electricity industry is going mad!! Despite unfortunately being with Symbio I have just had an email from e.on, who I left over a year ago, telling me my latest bill is ready and inviting me to log in and view it! I would even be tempted to do so except I no longer have my login details.

After leaving Symbio a few days ago, I contacted them via Facebook Messenger, with a view of trying to get a correct final bill. At the moment my invoices are very wrong regarding the amount I owe them. To their credit the next day I got an email, written in "non Symbio" proper English, detailing, based on my final meter read, what my total charges would be in the 10 months I have been with Symbio LESS the amount I have paid to date. I now have a Balance Due figure that is pretty damn close to my own.

I await the final bill after they receive the "validated closing meter read" from my new supplier.

As it happens, today I have received my final Gas invoice from SSE, as I switched my gas as well on 9 April - so it only took them 6 days to validate the closing gas read from my new supplier and produce a final invoice.

Let's see how long Symbio take to produce final bill.

From my own experience it seems Facebook Messenger is the best way to contact them - worked for me !

Has anyone had any experience of changing from one Symbio tariff to another?
We are on one of their tariffs from last August and thinking about changing to one of their current ones.

I have received my final bill from Symbio, having left 4 weeks ago. The balance due to me agrees with my worksheet, bar a few pennies. They have not done an overall closing reading minus opening reading reconciliation. so the "free units" stand

Received final bill today, just 2 weeks after leaving. I am very pleasingly surprised that everything is in order and the balance due is correct. As per the previous post, free units remain free units. Crazy billing system but at the end it all works. Just to repeat, IMO, best way to communicate with them is via Facebook Messenger, seems to get the job done within a day.

Thanks - they swapped mine without any issues as well.
Now, all I need to do is check the bill when it comes :)
Have to say, it's the first time I have ever had to contact them and it was trouble free.. I was only concerned due to some of the other posts here but it turns out that this was unfounded.

Got a reply from Symbio regarding being charged the same rate for Day and Night units - according to them I signed up for this EVEN THOUGH all of their charges for homes with economy 7 have two rates and I specified my usage for both types of unit. They must be desperate for money! I'm going to leave even if it means paying their exit fee as I can no longer put up with their lousy billing and excuses.

To anyone thinking of leaving Symbio Energy, but are worried about incurring possible exit fees:
    1. Remember the email from 01-Dec-2019 that effectively waived allexisting exit fees for customers at that time:
    2. Just seen this post on the Symbio Energy Facebook page - it's almost a month old now, but worth posting I feel.

I'm sure MSEers will know how to use that to their advantage
(Deliberately avoiding spelling it out on this thread, as I am fully aware that Symbio Energy read it regularly)

I rang this am and they confirm what tk47 found out that the exit fee would be waived.
