  • There’s a dog food processing factory over the wall.
  • Short lease or anticipated major repair works (maintenance to the outside of the building) with can run into the 10's of thousands of pounds. I've just paid £15,000 to the council for works to a one bedroom flat and that didn't get me a new roof or new windows!

    Grenfell style cladding?

Gut feeling is that if it were a genuine bargain it would have been snapped up, but I'd hazard a guess other investor have looked at the short lease or grenfell style cladding and decided it's either too much hassle/risk or it's not priced in sufficiently.

Mine doesn't have cladding thank god and is not a high rise otherwise it may have been double or triple that.

I'm moving to a freehold as soon as possible.

My guess is the house has been built upside-down but everyone assumes the upside-down pictures on the listing site are a clerical error.

Not to burst your bubble, but you still have to pay for the maintenance on a freehold. it's just you have the ability to unilaterally prioritise what, how and who to do the fixing.

Not an expert, but surely the moral and legal obligation to others e.g. safety are different in a block of flats to a detached house.
i.e. you could flood others or burn them to death.
