NSD # 13 today
Tomorrow won't be though, as I have miss-calculated ingredients and I am short of eggs and milk for the remainder of the week! Damn it.
A valiant effort after a terrible start to the month. The big lesson for me is to plan for my work trips away. While they do cover expenses, they won't cover the occasional coffee or snack, which ultimately ruined my NSD's.
Full review of the month to follow tomorrow!0 -
I got up yesterday full of plans but within an hour was back in bed. Yes, Mothernerd this bug (or is it a succession of bugs) is a nasty one. So I spent the whole day sleeping and got nothing done.
To make matters worse Himself needed milk so we lost our NSD.
Anyway, up now and hoping to make up for yesterday.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0 -
Mayhem on the school run this morning, seems to have been another major incident.
All the washing is out on the line, I am having a cuppa then will crack on with todays jobs. I need to make chana masala for tea, walk the dog, clean the bathroom and our bedroom, do the online grocery shop and go for a run. May also make some bread.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Fmess I find I cut things out and then they creep up again (especially when I'm tired or under the weather).
f0xh0les you need to invest in the tools that save you money (count the tenner as so many haircuts - tiny payback time). I'm thinking about investing in a s0d* stre*m, a la frugalwoods - do love fizzy water (as an alternative to tap and want to eliminate the diet coke). Think I'm going to buy some bamboo canes and thread all the 2l bottles I've saved onto them for the next few months - building my greenhouse column by column and if I find a permanent solution, they can be an upright bottle garden (cut a hole a each bottle takes one lettuce or similar sized plant).
Moneybutterfly well done, excellent progress.
Speky well worth thinking about what supplies you can take with you - even using a local SM instead of buying individual items is worth it (I know you want to still enjoy your life rather than being super frugal). I have made train picnics in the past but I often buy SM sandwiches and snacks for me and mum (plus water in 2l bottles - 3 is about the maximum I can put in my suitcase) when we are away.
Still feels like a treat (make sandwiches for the outward journey) but cheaper than a cafe and we can sit in the sunshine and relax. The odd cafe meal feels like a real treat (mum pays as I am 'on duty' as her carer).
Toni'sfriend snap. I slept well the night before but still slept most of yesterday. Thought I must need it, (the bug is leaving but slowly, messily and sometimes painfully) but then felt guilty at being idle all day (bins went out, including 2 small bags from my room and the stuff from the bathroom (disgusting old toilet brush and some rags that were not going in my washing machine).
dolly we had another stabbing murder last week. I make it sound like downtown Vegas but it's well over a year - the last one was at the top of the street and visible from my front door (well the police cars and crime scene tape were). Think it was the last straw for the chip shop people - on their doorstep - they sold up and never came back (they were on holiday when it happened) and the new owners shut at 10pm and are closed on Sundays.
I'm not sinking if anyone was worried by the quotes. Just needed a change (theme for the month). Sometimes we need to go out firing on all cylinders and sometimes it takes everything we've got to hang on and keep crawling.
Right Food, Clothes, Bills - need to dry the clothes in the washer (so I can leave the house), check on what to use up in order of urgency and turn all the jottings in to a proper list (writing it down every time I think of/ remember something). Read through the March challenge and work out what needs doing in the next two days.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -

Thank you for writing this mothernerd, as I was worrying about you.

Thanks, Mothernerd. Feeling so much better today.
NSD No 11 but I think that's going to be it for this month. Not too bad though all things considered.
So, today I've done lots of things. Changed bedding, washing and ironing all up to date, did a bit of tidying and moving about in the Boy's ex room, tidied some drawers out in both our room and his, got rid of some things to the bin, some more earmarked for the charity shop, etc. Feeling quite productive,
Made a sausage casserole for dinner and used up some veg and frozen chicken to make soup for lunches. Amazing what you can use up when you put your mind to it.
Got plans for more tomorrow. Got to keep up the momentum.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0 -
NSD today - 21/20.
Done plenty of walking today. Walked into town to the chemist to pick up my prescription, then onto the gp surgery to sort out the repeats - receptionist messaged gp who then sorted out the issue, then walked through the park back to the flat. Then walked through the park to/from train station. Went to the 3rd session of the grief programme.
Having a chilled out evening as the session was difficult.Frugal Living Challenge 2025 Mortgage free as of 1st August 20130 -
How can I be this tired? It's only day 3 and I can hardly stay awake. NSD by force as I have literally 12p in my purse :rotfl:
However, I'm plodding on and just being me. There's nothing much to report other than I'm getting back into the swing of things at work finally and it's still hard. I don't know if I have a bit of post-holiday blues or if I'm having a mid life crisis, or if it's all my new 'post marriage' life. I'm trying to go with it though - smile when I feel good and survive when I don't.Not giving up

Today I am grateful for possibilities at work being considered, for being outside in the sunshine, for the pleasure of opening my fruity plants pack that I ordered several weeks ago, for some time out in the garden, for working with some lovely people, for getting some paperwork sorted, for a happy dd.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0
