Beautifully sunny day here - really hard to believe its still Feb!!
Nipped into town with DS2 (inset day....) to go to C1arks - no trainers in his size in stock so I've ordered several pairs to go to the store. Whilst we were in town I dropped a bag of fabric recycling at HnM and got another £5 off £25 voucher (good for the students - that's where DD gets 90% of her clothes from and DS1 gets his jeans from there) and took some ill-fitting shorts back to Pr1mark. Checked school trousers in MnS for DS2 but nothing in stock there in his size/ preferred style so I'll order some over the weekend (pesky children keep growing!) We then went back home via Icyland (got my free bday frozen dessert and more onion rings and £2.50 Hal0 T0p salted caramel icecream...) and Tesc0 (a baguette, 75p Easter eggs, YS gammon steaks (yummy - we had them for dinner just
) and some YS veggies)
I later nipped out alone (leaving DS2 with OH) and went to MnS outlet and bought 2 pairs of P'runa trousers for work (I only have 2 pairs and 1 is wearing on the inner thigh....) for £30 - I'll take that! :T They hang beautifully, if I say so myself

Mothernerd thank you for the quotes many have made me laugh out loud much to the concern of DH.
Can't believe how quick this month has gone, looking forward to next month and making more progress on everything!
Grateful for drying washing outside, snowdrops still in the garden, staying bug free( so far) .Groceries: Personal Spend: 0 NST NSD Goals for 2025:Self: Health: Wealth :0 -
I aimed for productive pottering today and did quite well. Bag with the remainder of the kitchen rubbish taken round the yard and filled (mainly bags for life - when they get holes in I fill them with soil and use them as planters until they wear out). Ate from fridge and freezer (lots of bits used up).
Scribbled lots of ideas down which need to be transcribed onto lists. Five garden chairs (mostly broken but have plans for them) lined up along one side of the yard and draped with washing (+ the buddleia bush and the water butt) to dry, Dry towel brought in. Pills decanted and both 'medicine' tins sorted. Lots more tiny puddles of space created.
Finished reading my book (had put it on hold for 2 days as it is very good but very intense - previous two books by this author were set 1 at the foot of Pendle hill shortly after the Moors murders occurred and 2 Shetland with Wicker Man/ child abuse overtones). This one was even better but definitely needed the break.
More large pieces of cardboard folded to fit in the blue bin (using my body weight rather than muscles). Started loading washing machine again.
Today I am grateful for tasty food (and healthy), for clearing a little more space and for the coughing easing off a little. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Morning all. SFD yesterday, lots of work but finished at 7. Had a lovely dog walk in the nice weather after school and got a load of washing done. Today may be spendy, I’m at a conference but may need to pay for parking and not sure on the food situation.LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Checking in for the last day of Feb - thank you for running this month's challenge Mothernerd, I've really enjoyed the quotations
.
NSDs should be 13/15 today. Will look at a realistic target next month, it's a real struggle for me to find more than 3/4 NSDs per week.
Must remember to fetch the washing in before I leave, showers forecast for today! Good news for the allotment, less so for laundry.0 -
We did it!!!!
Payday today, ended the month with a bank balance of 84p in credit. Hooray for new budget starting today.
But it has not all been doom and gloom. My house is tidier than it has ever been since we moved in. More clutter has been sorted, more floor space has been created, more tabletops and worktops are clear. So although financially it was a car crash (figuratively), in practical 'housey' terms it has been very productive.
So thank you for keeping me on the straight and extremely narrow path this month Turtles.4/10/25Three Years Mortgage Free Yay!

Well done everyone. I'm checking out with 13/18 NSD's.
Mothernerd - Thank you for all your help, support and lovely quotes. You've been awesome!0 -
Thanks for running February mothernerd, you have been fab as usual. Can you tell me which books you are reading, what you said about them rang a bell and I think I may have read the Pendle Hill one but not any others?
Grocery shop is coming before lunch today so I need to be in for that, I need to do some ironing, cleaning, dog walking and make chana masala for tea, was supposed to make that yesterday but we had something else instead.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

End of the month and congratulations to all turtles who have succeeded in all their goals. Extra hugs for all those who are clinging on by their fingertips, either financially or because of life - just remember none of us gets out alive, so do what you can and love your life (even the difficult, sorrowful or downright awful times).
dolly the author is Sharon Bolton (formerly S.J.Bolton). The ones I have read are Sacrifice, Now You See Me and Blood Harvest (the one I've just finished) but there seem to be quite a few more (so exciting when you find a 'new to you' author).
They are good on so many levels. Very well written, compelling (unless you find you don't want to start again in the middle of the night), very good on 'social history' (my early childhood) - the rampant sexism of the 1960's police force (although it was standard behaviour then as followers of PC56 and things like Mad Men can attest). I will have to see which others the library has (might have to ration myself).
So onward turtles, new month, new start (tomorrow - don't run away yet). Many many thanks to all who took part (come out those of you hiding in the corners) - everyone contributes to the success of this challenge not just the person running it (who occasionally goes awol or just a bit quiet but always comes back, slowly hauling myself up inch by inch). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0
