Google Pay Send coming to UK?

Google Pay was updated on my phone a couple of days ago, and I notice a new option under Settings saying "Sending Money" - but is greyed out for now. I know friends in the US have had this for a while (and this has been available here using the web interface). Be a nice way of sending ad hoc payments when it comes!

I noticed it seems to be active when you log in into your Google wallet via website however I did not try to check if it works.0

Been using the web interface for many years for sending money to and fro. Total loss to date: £0.00. I don't see this as any greater a risk than PayPal, paym, etc. And probably safer than carrying and passing cash.
