  • Thanks for popping by clearmydebts, it doesn't feel like it made a big difference but it's £5 less to find later.

As I had hoped, the loan is now down to £8261 meaning next month we get in to the £7k bracket. It definitely makes me feel better seeing the balance going down on this and my payments having a bigger impact instead of being gobbled up by higher interest payments.

  • These Sunday nights roll around so quickly don't they?

It's been a quiet weekend but a bit spendy (mainly food shopping not fun spending)
I could use some NSDs this week though, aiming for at least 3 before next Sunday...this includes the odd spends at work, every little helps I think.

  • I've only managed 1 NSD so far, there's a good chance tomorrow will also be a NSD, I can't guarantee it for Friday though...and definitely not on Saturday - food shopping.

It's definitely feeling cooler here, the darker mornings are making me feel tired...it's like getting up in the middle of the night.

  • It's been a really spendy week, I came down with a heavy cold and ended up having to go for supplies and changed my meal plan to beans on toast (my 'go to' comfort food)
I'm almost too scared to check my accounts but I know I need to face it so I will do that after my update.

Also had my hair done earlier this week, although I funded 60% of the bill from my topcashback account so that's not as bad as it could have been, I only get it done 1/2 times a year

Next week must be better, luckily groceries won't cost too much as we have meals left from this week's plan.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend, I will be back with another update I am sure before the weekend is out.
I'm going to shut off the pc now and try to enjoy a hot chocolate (nothing tastes the same when you've got a cold) and I might read for a bit or watch a bit of TV before taking myself to bed.

  • Hope you are feeling a bit better. My partner has had a heavy cold too so I am hoping I don't get it :) I totally get the comfort food thing but mine go to is spaghetti on toast! I never eat it any other time except when I am poorly ha ha.

It is totally worth getting your hair done as well as it will lift you up a bit so don't get too stressed about it.

Hope you are having a relaxing time :)

  • Thanks for checking on me Unicorn cottage, turns out I've spent most of the weekend feeling terrible. I've barely left the sofa, I'm on regular ibuprofen to keep my temperature down and my diet has been toast and water. I'm hoping I will start feeling better soon. My illness has meant it's been a minimal spend weekend though so not all bad.

I agree FTD, being sick as a dog, or working like one, are both good for MSE. that said, I hope you recover soon, its terrible being under the weather

  • Thanks Mark, I can't believe that over a week later I am still feeling rubbish...I've never had a cold last this long before.

We've had a productive weekend thus far, house has had a good clean through, dinner has been in the slow cooker all day and the food shop is due to be delivered soon. I'm hoping to get stuck in to a good book this evening so that I can relax and take my mind off feeling rubbish.

  • Just checking in, we're in limbo land before pay day so nothing too exciting going on.

I'm finally starting to see the end of this nasty cold, the usage of kleenex has finally started to slow.

I am super excited that I've just realised that as of the 1st January (2nd if we have to count the bank hol) we should be in the £6k bracket on the loan - it'll be like a late Christmas present.
I don't like to wish my life away but getting out of this loan repayment cycle will make such a difference to our lives.
