W06 thank for that, btw did you get your full amount of payment when you transferred over to uc example standard rate uc then the lcwra element and the housing element added to it like what was your process going through it?0

Did your money reduce from esa rate to just the standard dole money like when you 1st start esa off then your payment increases after 13 weeks until you have an assessment or is it straight forward and just a transfer from esa to uc ?0

Incidentally there was an error in my first payment, something had gone wrong with the housing support tick boxes in the system, but a quick message via the online system resulted in this actually being paid (I.e the mistake rectified) before the rest of the UC that month.0 -

Hi Anthony, on ESA I wasn’t actually receiving any money because I had a student stipend that was roughly the same amount as I’d have been entitled to, but I was entitled to support group etc if I didn’t have the stipend.
I applied online for UC and that triggered an end to my ESA claim. In several places the UC online application didn’t really fit my situation and so I answered as best I could and then explained in the text boxes the situation.
Within a couple of weeks it had all been sorted and I was placed in the LCWRA group for UC with no new assessment or paperwork.
My first UC payment was:
Standard allowance + Limited capability for work related activity amount + housing element
I claimed on the 28th/29th March and received the first payment on 6th May - notified of it 7 days earlier.
Hope that helps0 -
w06. Thanks for posting. I am only able to post about what I think should happen. it's really helpful to have posts from people who have actually gone through the process.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.0

I am on Universal Credit with LCWRA transferred from my ESA Claim , If i was ever say moved from LCWRA to LCW on UC would i still get additional LCW payment as original ESA claim was made before made before 3rd of April 2017 ?
The gov.uk website says
"A claimant with a health condition or disability who makes a claim for Universal Credit on or after 3 April 2017, and who is found to have limited capability for work following a WCA, will not get any additional payment of Universal Credit.
Some claimants will not be affected by the change. This includes:
existing Universal Credit claimants who were receiving Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) immediately before they claimed UC and their ESA claim was made before 3 April 2017 and who have not been found fit for work"
Does that mean in my example i would still get the LCW element?0 -
It’s confusing isn’t it Martin_930
