Does your phone have a locked screensaver?

I don't have any bank apps on my phone but if I did, I'd only have the minimum I would need for a daily basis.

    Although I am overly cautious.
May you find your sister soon Helli.

Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill

    14.

I find the apps useful when abroad, as I don't normally take my laptop with me.

The Amex app is useful for getting instant confirmations of any spend.

Some things only work on a phone - Tesco Pay+, Monzo, Curve, and Tandem

I subscribe to a VPN when abroad for added security.

Oh, and I've also got accounts with 5 institutions who don't have apps!
  • None. I'm too busy eating a Greggs as I walk down the street, 'on the go', to be bothered with banking 'on the go'. I lead an incredibly fantastically busy life as it is, always 'on the go' anyway, so no time for mobile banking.

2, as I can transfer the housekeeping at the till. Saves a lot of needless "thought I had some money in that account" issues.

All behind their own security & a pincode, on a phone I can crashwipe remotely.

I only see my trusty desktop for a couple of hours a day & now the chaps have figured Amazon Prime TV...

Is there an advantage to using the app rather than just logging into the website via the browser?
Yes. I don't need to remember any login info, which is a significant advantage as I could never remember 20-odd logins. I have a password manager but no password manager can handle all the different login procedures banks are using. I now use FaceID to log in. It's supported on all the apps.

I still occasionally need to use Internet banking, e.g. to set up a Standing Order, or to apply for new accounts. The apps have come a long way though and some already provide all the functionality (and more) as Internet banking does.

using an app doesn't mean you ever use it outside the house. Although I do find it convenient to be able to make a bank transfer when not at home.

Twentysix, incl a couple of credit-card-only apps and a personal finance manager. Have I won? What's the prize?

But how many of the 26 are sexy ones:D

I have 10 bank, 2 credit card & HL app.

9 of the 10 are used regularly, 10th is Atom which is app only.

I don't bank when out & about as such but find apps quicker & easier to use than internet banking. Also useful when I'm out of the country.
