  • Sunday - day 12/21

    £20 in my purse

As Sundays is our only day off we tend to have a very lazy morning followed by a few chores and then an afternoon of lazing round catching up with any tv we've recorded/missed during the week.

I need to really concentrate on our laundry this week as I've let it run away from me a little bit. Someone else has agreed to do sports club washing after this weekends games so it will be a rare week I can catch up on ours.

    Breakfast: bagels with cheese
Late lunch/early dinner: beef joint done in the slow cooker with new potatoes and mixed veg.

There should be enough beef left for Monday nights dinner too - hooray!

    Breakfast: cereal
Lunch: pasta and sauce with a little grated cheese
Dinner: leftover beef with new potatoes and veg

I'll need petrol again on the way home tonight and I'm driving to a freind's house to pic up my MOH dress and shoes to try on. She lives a little further out so will prob need to top up petrol again before the end of the week.

  • I just spent at lunchtime on some screen wash for the car and some tissues - necessities of the season!

So £25 left in my purse after I've put the odd bits toward my penny-a-day challenge.

Supplies are being run down nicely - I'd like to see some space in my freezer and cupboards before the end of the challenge and also try to not stockpile so much. I just hate paying over the odds though when if you bulk buy it's so much cheaper! Might need to get some catfood and I will need to top up my oyster card to get the train to the theatre Saturday.

Really busy week this week - as we're having Saturday off sports club (FIL birthday theatre trip) we need to make sure everything is in place. Kits will have to be finished off tonight and tomorrow night then Wednesday night we have a meeting and Thursday night I'll need to drop bits off to the people who need them.

Slow cooker and timer plug will have to do their jobs this week!

  • I could really do with getting some bits on ebay I just can't see me having time to sort it this week. Might just have to admit defeat and wait until Sunday and then list a few bits in one go.

  • Day 14/21 two thirds of the way there!

£35 in my purse this morning

    Breakfast: cereal
    Lunch: leftover pizza
Dinner: last of the beef (joint seems neverending!) with new potatoes and mixed veg

I had a few spends today. Lottery ticket - very naughty but it is a mega mega rollover. Needed cat food and found quite a few bits on ys in the shops that I can freeze so couldn’t resist them.

I’ve got a chille con carne bubbling away in the slow cooker which can just be pinged tomorrow night with some ping rice too. Hopefully enough left for lunches another day.

Down to £20 in my purse.

  • Today - day 16/21

Started the day with £28 in my purse

    Breakfast: cereal
Lunch: pasta & sauce, no cheese left so stirred a laughing cow triangle through it, actually went creamy and was really nice. Worked well.
Dinner: to be decided on the way home

Well we managed to do all of our running around the last few nights so we actually don't have to do anything tonight which will be nice. So we have decided to get the meal deal from Waitrose on the way home for Valentines as a treat - I really hope there something left to chose from!

So will be ending the day with £8 in my purse.

  • Got the meal deal in Waitrose on the way home - works out you save £10.09 :money:

So we have charcuterie to start, lamb steaks for main with new potatoes and broccoli and butternut squash. Then salted caramel profiteroles for pudding and a bottle of wine.

There were so many men in the shop panic buying on the way home :rotfl:
