  • Morning, didn't post yesterday but did give the bathroom a good scrub. Great timing as I dyed my hair yesterday and it needed a clean! Just done my living room in preparation for my social worker coming round. Thankfully I live in a flat so no stairs to do for me! Quick swish round the kitchen after lunch and I'm done :)
  • Morning all,

Brr very cold and icy here ❄️
Dogs walked, kitchen and conservatory cleaned, polished and steam mopped 😁
Going to hoover the lounge and stairs next.
    First, cuppa and breakfast 😁
    See you soon x

    This morning I have
    - washed my hair
    - made phonecalls
    - checked bank accounts
    - started WMx1 of 3
    - taken Rosie for her run in the woods
    - scraped snow and hail off the car (outside temperature is now above zero)
    - taken in a delivery

    Now I need to
    - put our evening meal in the SC
    - cook brunch
    - change
    - check I've got everything I need for this afternoon
    - go to the funeral of a friend

If we get home before dark I will take Rosie for another short walk down the lane. Yesterday evening she began barking at me and answering back when I reminded her that she's already had her walk at lunchtime!

(((Hugs))) Natty. A scrape is always disconcerting, but no-one got hurt. That's the only important thing. Hope your foot feels better this [STRIKE]morning[/STRIKE] afternoon.

    Love ^ ^ ^ this!

I've knocked two things off my months old 'To Do' list this morning, both of which I thought were 10 minute job, one of which took two hours. And I've managed to read half a newspaper, so that's huge progress although I realise in the grand scheme of things it doesn't sound like much.

While I was doing all of that I wanted to check the diameter of something I need to replace, and the only way to confirm my calculations were right was to do it on the floor by making a circle with the only thing to hand - a tape measure. Made the circle, and Higgs (the big 'kitten') promptly stepped into it and sat down. I'd heard cats do it, but never checked it out. Amazing.
    Better is good enough.

I have steam mopped the living room floor and walked the dogs. Have Cba syndrome so will try to just cuddle up with poppet until next shift.

What’s the verdict on a steam mob? Considering getting one but are they worth the expense?

I literally don't have a choice some weeks. DH works away all week, I have to be at work for 7.45 each day and look smart. The kids are ferried to school by willing friends each morning, so I need to make sure they are ready to go.

Finished work early today to collect them. Need to empty TD now, feed kiddies and go back out to DD activity. My preference would be wine and dinner in front of the fire and DH here but hey ho.... gosh I feel lonely sometimes.

Pity party over, off to do something!

My hubby works away a lot too, it has been soooo nice having him around these last few weeks. He's been away for only 2 nights since Christmas, it wasn't fun.

I hope you at least get a sit down this evening.

I've only done one floor which I thought was quite clean but lots of grime came up so ok so far. It has lots of attachments and I mainly bought it to clean the sofas so that will be the real test.

ATB when we moved house when the children were young, our new neighbours assumed I was a single mother as DH was hardly ever at home, so I understand how you feel.

I have a phobia surrounding germs from the bathroom. I used to mop the floor with boiling water and bleach but never felt 'settled' it was clean. Now I add a couple of drops of Zoflora to my steam mop and after sweeping the floor or vacuuming it, as long as I give the floor a good going over my mind is at peace. A steam mop has been a godsend to me.
