Evening all,
400 mile round trip for work today - my job is crazy at times!
Re: tax return for rental income, I guess it's just amount of rent received minus expenses incurred? So if you keep on top of a spreadsheet throughout the year it should be simple.
You might also find other little tax deductions you are entitled to even though you are, I believe, employed - union subscriptions and, if you are not reimbursed for your work mileage today you could claim that too.
My work pay me 40p per mile, the hmrc rate is 45p, so I claim the other 5p per mile through my self assessment return.

Hi flyfriends x
Over slept this morning so did a mad benny hill dash in order to get to work on time. Was busy busy busy all day which made for a quick shift. Came straight home, ran a bath with lots of bubbles and chilled out for a wee bit. WM is now on and I'm in my jammies with a cuppa. DD is just away to dancing so I'm going to relaxI'm not a muggle...I'm just magically challenged0 -

Accountants do mine, family firm going back three generations at least, possibly more. I tried following what they'd done the previous year once, and realised not only did I not understand what they'd done, I had absolutely no idea how the law had changed regarding tax, and that I could get myself into totally unnecessary trouble if I had a go myself, so I sent it all to them. They have saved me literally thousands of pounds over the past few years and are worth every single penny of what they charge - to me.
Busy day again, not much progress but the house looks passable. I'm spending about 10 minutes tidying and putting away every day now and that seems to make a huge difference. Tadpole munched.
OH has texted to say he's on the train, in the dining car, and won't need a lift from the station, so I won't need to cook tonight when he gets back. It looks as though those two packets of Maltezers were dinner, then.Better is good enough.0 -
Morning all. Hope you're all ok.
I'm not going to try to catch up today. If I get time around the paid stuff I'll concentrate on today's list, but first I'll finish my cuppa and have a shower.
Have a great day everyone.
Oh and I have a new steam cleaner to play with.Spend less now, work less later.0 -

I'm really impressed ATB, I'm currently under the duvet, sticking my toe out occasionally to check the progress of the heating.
Will need to fly at some point today, but still feel pants. It maybe hhc's and 'as break blitzes' today.Outstanding mortgage: £23,181 (December 19)

Morning all. Well despite the warning of ice here in my part of Kent it never appeared last night. The gritters were out at 3pm last night but I think it got all washed away in the rain that appeared instead. Can't believe the forecast was so wrong.. !!!!
I was so busy driving around and at an old meeting group I lost yesterday. Then when I got home, while talking to DH somehow my foot collided with the baby gate on the kitchen door. Boy was it painful I can tell you. I think I must have done something to it as I can't bed the toes now without winching in pain. Should be good for driving...lol
Oh and I've also got to find an owner of a car at my old therapy place today, unfortunately I managed to scrape the therapy places "beast" along it while negotiating getting out of a parking space. In my defence it was so rammed with cars I am surprised it was only a small scrape. So now I have to tell my supervisor that I've had a scrape, although when wiped with water the paint from the other car did come off, and also find the owner and tell them. Not looking forward to this.. I actually felt physically sick on the drive back home, which didn't help with being stuck in a huge traffic jam on the M20 homeward bound.
Today is a quiet morning then off to a meeting with my supervisor before I take the "beast" out. I have also got to do some of my list from the other day, and hoover.-

Morning all. I've stripped and remade my bed and on the second wash load. I've put some round the radiators and the bedding out on the line. I'm sure it will freeze (it's -2C at the moment) but I'll swap things round when the first lot is dry inside.
I've also cleaned the bathroom and toilet fully and the floors should be dry soon.
I feel like I want to go out but I know it's too cold for DH and I've got shopping coming between 9 and 11 so I probably won't want to bother after that!0 -
Morning all.
I’ve braved the elements and dropped DD at school, been to the market and done a (thankfully) small shop including 2 presents. I even managed to spot an overcharge before I left the shop (usually it’s too late by the time I notice), so got my £1.50 back :money:. It was -2 when I set off but up to the heady heights of zero when I got back. The sun is now out so hopefully the thick frost will soon melt.
I have to go and get the dreaded haircut later, so I’ve changed the beds, got the wm running and may manage to flick a duster around the bedroom.
Ooh and I got some Seville oranges in the market. It might be Marmalade Day soon!0
