97 yo driver causes crash

It is quite ridiculous for a 97 year old to be driving when they are so filthy rich and have professional, highly trained drivers employed 24/7 at their beck and call.
We had this discussion at work, I certainly wouldn't even consider driving if I had a flunkey to do it for me, as I hate driving.
However, his driving experience is different to mine. He doesn't crawl along in traffic, I bet there is a phalanx of armed Police/soldiers to clear the peasants out of his way (how did that one get through??) and I expect every set of lights is green when he gets there. When he arrives at Tescos* half the carpark is cordoned off so he can sweep into the best space.
If there isn't then what on Earth is the point of being the Queen's husband? :rotfl:
* it will take him as long as me, as before he can go in he will have top walk the line of staff, shaking hands and asking "What is it that you do?"I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

No checks either - just a form saying you're fine to still drive. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
Hi,
from the BBC link.
'Norfolk police said it was force policy to breath test drivers involved in collisions and both had provided negative readings'
mmm, would one of his flunkies maybe breath into the bag for him?0 -
The "flunkies" with him were highly-trained specialist police officers, his close protection officers.[Deleted User] wrote:mmm, would one of his flunkies maybe breath into the bag for him?0 -
Hi,
oh, so, you can imagine the Chooka getting done for drink driving, doing an Ant n Dec scenario, hefty fine and rehab?0 -
He's already had a new one delivered.

I wish my insurance company were half as quick.0 -

I wish my insurance company were half as quick.
Maybe he's posted a bond and doesn't need insurance.0 -

royal cars are built like tanks, bulletproof glass etc makes them quite heavy, im surprised the other car managed to turn it over. Bet the security were krapping themselves thinking it was an assasination attempt.
I see the papers are not going with the blind pensioner causes road accident angle, going with road speed to be reduced and cameras installed, wonder who they are saying might be to blame?
That car was not built like a tank, nor did it have armoured glass.
I used to design armoured vehicles for a living.0
