Yes yes yes, and war and droughts and plague and pestilence ......................... *yawn*

You've got your grab bag ready haven't you?

Mine just contains cake & sunscreen so I can bask on the sunlit uplands without fear of sunburn whilst having my cake and eating it.

I've got a little wind-up radio too so I can listen to the Dam Busters March on Brexit FM all morning of the 1st then, in the afternoon, I can catch up on the details of the easiest trade deal ever.

I'll also have a little chortle thinking about all the brexiteers as they realise being a miserable old sod is a constant and unaffected by the UK's membership of the EU.

We might even get a public holiday on the 1st because a Friday is a funny old day to be leaving the EU. Happy days.

Meanwhile the IFS suggest a no-deal brexit will lead to a £100bn deficit which will somewhat impact on the Tories plans to balance the books by 2015. :)

At least that they haven't repeatedly proclaimed to have eradicated boom and bust.

I think Gordon Brown last said this in 2006 but, apart from being warmed over during the Scottish referendum, he hasn't been seen for a decade.

Yes, we know he didn't eliminate boom and bust but mentioning it as a one line response to the IFS's comments about next year's budget deficit makes it look like you might be struggling to move on.

Surprising for someone who thought that they were nailed on for the top job in the World Bank. GFC hit the UK in 2007. A good reason while he wasn't in a position to repeat the claim.

Yes interesting. Still nothing to do with the IFS comments on the UK's brexit deficit though.
  • I see Leave.EU have been showing the true face of Brexit again:

Though there are plenty of other issues outside of Brexit which are going to impact the economy.

Oh I see. A variation on the 'but Corbyn' rebuttal.

Yes, heaven's forbid any negative economic news be laid at brexit's door.

    Or any positive news either.

To be on the safe side I've decided not to hold my breath while I wait.
