And another invitation to the Leavers on this board to condemn the racism and xenophobia inherent in the Leave movement, is answered by claims that their racism isn't as bad as other people's.
Again.
I'll happily condemn racism and xenophobia from any source.
I also condemn the EU for its lack of diversity despite proclaiming that it champions it. Only eight non white MEPs, five of whom are British, none from Spain and Italy despite them having 132 MEPs and 24 members having no non white MEPs at all. About the only non-white workers in Berlaymont are the cleaners. To me, that is a kind of racism too.
How about you condemn that? The fascists of the future will call themselves anti-fascists.0 -
Fortunately the pathological need by Remain voters to point and say fascist is your problem not mine. Just be thankful that the Brexit Party (your party of fascists!) disappears in approximately 90 days time.
Who are your fascists then?
There will still be foreigners, Jews, Muslims and non-whites to despise and blame for our ills on 1 November.
If UKIP/Brexit Party disappears, something else will evolve to fill that extreme right space along with the far-left extremists.I am a mortgage broker. Happily. Now if we remain in the EU perhaps the UK could do something to promote equality within it. Rather than having no influence at all outside it.
Of course this will rather depend on whether the UK (what is eventually left of it) continues to elect governments almost entirely comprised of privileged white men, who all went to the same two schools.0 -

All they seem to do is point at Europe and say it's worse there! Of course it is! Europe has a terrible history of conflict!
The whole point of the EU was to challenge the centuries of religious and racial bigotry and bring the European states together towards a common shared purpose. If the EU fragments the likelihood of the re-emergence of fascism will only increase dramatically!0 -

The EU has precisely zero control over who the MEPs are - they are voted in by the people. They can't even nominate or endorse anyone.0 -

They don’t appear to have a problem ignoring MEPs nominations for EU presidents and nominating the likes of Ursula von der Leyen instead. Or breaking their own rules to parachute Martin Selmayr as head of the EU civil service. The fascists of the future will call themselves anti-fascists.0 -
Fascism in Spain, Germany, Italy etc emerged out of a history of hundreds of years of persecution by the catholic church of religious minorities, especially the Jews. The EU is not to blame for this history and is the only political organisation likely to change things! Put it this way can you explain how countries like Spain and Italy are going to become more diverse outside the EU?
Right wingers dislike the EU because they perceive it as a left wing institution. Left wingers dislike it because they see it as a right wing institution.
It's far from perfect, but it's better than the Tories and Boris Johnson.0 -
