Ah ok I see what you mean.
Yes my reasons for voting Tory in the past has been to avoid labour.
Not sure I agree with you about the size of support for the two main parties.
Both have lost significant amounts of support and I think significant numbers of younger people think climate change is the number one issue.0 -

Significant numbers of young people don’t get off their !!!!!! and turn up to vote so what they think is not relevant. Maybe they will this time, but as those that do are mostly politically motivated students congregated in the same areas it’s not much difference nationally.
And we run FPTP so despite what polling says when push comes to shove a load of those disillusioned tories/labour in the key constituencies will fall right back into line at the thought of the other getting in.0 -
This is from the Japanese foreign minister on the Today programme. There are over 1,000 Japanese companies operating in the United Kingdom, so we are very concerned with this no-deal Brexit. That would have a very negative impact on their operations ...
There are a few Japanese auto manufacturers operating in the United Kingdom, and some parts are coming from continental Europe. Right now they have a very smooth operation; their stock for each part is only for a few hours.
But if there is a no-deal Brexit, and if they have to go through actual customs inspections physically, those operations may not be able to continue. And many companies are worried about the implications, because they do not know what is going to happen. They don’t know what happens legally or physically. So some companies have already started moving their operations to other places in Europe.
We do not want to disrupt the economic relationship with the UK. So we’ve been asking the UK government: let the Japanese companies know what they can expect and things should happen smoothly without any disruption.
Whenever we have had meetings [with the UK government] that was the issue - please no no-deal Brexit.
This needs to be beamed onto the back of the eyeballs of the wingnuts who've been campaigning for Brexit in some deluded fantasy that it will be good for Britain's economy.
Brexit, deal or not, will cost jobs, livelihoods and wellbeing of everyone. Most particularly the people who were lied to to support it.0 -

Let’s not pretend that a vote for the Lib Dems is anything other than a vote for the latter.
What a really depressing political time we live in.
Why do you say that? The Lib Dem’s are polling very strongly.
But I agree if you believe you only can choose between Tory and Labour then I’d feel depressed. Have a close look at the Lib Dem’s. You might get a pleasant surprise. There’s a massive realignment going on in uk politics.0 -

So all they do is put Jeremy Corbyn in Downing Street. Some people will be absolutely fine with that.
It’s the same as voting for the brexit party.
Now I’m not saying that either party couldn’t get to those dizzy heights over the longer term, but if we have a GE in the next 6-12 months they are both just protest votes against tories and enablers for a labour govt.
Let’s not try pretending otherwise.
That’s not what the polls have been showing0 -

Polls do not directly translate into seats. See UKIP 2015.0
