Absolutely with polling stations open 7am - 10pm who has an excuse?

BTW - my mother voted when she was in intensive care on polling day. It’s called a postal vote and it’s very convenient for those with genuine reasons.

You do not need a genuine reason. Just choose to have a postal vote.
Few people are capable of expressing with equanimity opinions which differ from the prejudices of their social environment. Most people are incapable of forming such opinions.

I know a fair number of people that never bother. Funnily enough they then tend to be the biggest complainers.

Fully agree, those who cannot be bothered to vote have nothing to complain about. Had many of those people who were moaning about the referendum result bothered to vote it might have been a clearer result and avoided the bickering of the past 3 years.

    Result was clear enough.

    This is worth a read:

    https://www.politics.co.uk/blogs/2019/05/24/may-ends-her-premiership-as-she-started-it-with-the-greatest

And I agree with the conclusion that she was the second worst Prime Minister we’ve had. Admittedly she was dealt a poor hand, but she proceeded to play it phenomenally badly.

Good article that.......as is this one:-

    Result was clear enough.

Still a considerable number of people that failed to express an opinion. Sufficient to provide a clearer mandate.

I mean in every "lie" there a grain of truth.

Where's the truth in "Easiest trade deal in human history"?

    Just a grain please....

They can all see how well it's gone in the UK. While we wait to see what contemptible lizard the Tory Party membership choose as the next PM, I can only think it seems a very long time since mortgage brokers gloated and danced somersaults on these pages.

The EU have made an example of us, like I said they would. They will do exactly the same to whoever the 100k of old grey men deem suitable as the next PM of our country.
It's an interesting drama to watch but still awful when you think about it that the future of this country is being decided by the internal machinations and platitudinous crap that these aspirant Tory lizards will spout out in the coming weeks.

I've always been amazed about how many international trade law/policy experts we have in our brexit community.

I don't think the EU made an example of us. They never had to because we collapsed as a negotiating force the day after the referendum.

A government of two-faced career politicians representing a portion of an electorate they mostly detest against a political union they don't understand. Never going to be a recipe for success was it?

As a Corbynite I do say with regret, that the clock has run out for Labour, he needs to say unambiguously what a Labour government will do about this because if he doesn't, no-one will think they seriously can be a government.

I can only assume they are all away working on their PhDs, considering how quiet they have gone.
