Independent Appeals Service website not working?

Hi all,
Hoping one of you would be able to help. I’m trying to appeal a parking fine which has been unjustly charges against me.
I initially appealed through the firm (SIP), who have since rejected my appeal.
I am now attempting to appeal through the IAS website. I enter my PCN number and Reg No, the website confirms it has a result, the website takes me to another page where I have to enter my personal details to register with them and it simply does not allow me to progress to the next page. I have completed every box but when I click next the page just refreshes.
I thought it had maybe completed in the background but it doesn’t seem to be the case when I try to login with my registered details. I tried to reset my password but a grey page pops up over the webpage and all I can do is click ‘X’. I have no emails from them at all.
As you can probably tell, it’s getting quite frustrating and I’m not sure what I can do next as it says on the website once you have opened an appeal online you cannot appeal by any other method.
Has anyone else has this problem?
Thanks in advance
H

It is generally suggested that it is not worth appealing to the IAS anyway.
I would give up trying that and sit back and ignore any debt collectors letters that come your way.
Post again on this thread if ever you receive a Letter of Claim or official court correspondence.
While waiting you might like to read the NEWBIES FAQ sticky thread to better understand the game you are now caught up in.0 -
Keith is right you are wasting your time. Follow the advice he has given0

In our opinion, the IAS is 'broken' every day. No-one wastes their time:

Come back and win a defended court claim with a proper hearing of the facts.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks all, appreciate the brutal honesty, I will flat out ignore unless anything spicy pops up!
Looks like I’ve opened a can of worms I didn’t know was there with these parking companies. Unbelievable what they get away with.0 -
Hi all,
Parking fine of mine has resulted in a county court claim, I'm looking to get some help with the wording of my defence or if it honestly is even worth pursuing. I've completed my acknowledgement on MoneyClaim, followed all the newbie steps up until writing my defence.
Summary of what happened:I arrived at car park 17:29 bought an hour ticket taking me to 18:29. My car then stayed in the carpark from 18:29 to 23:25 without a valid ticket. I arrived back at the car park at this time an purchase a ticket taking me through to 08:00 the following day and left the car park at 07:55.
I made a genuine forgetful mistake here I was parked for 5 hours ticketless but I can explain why and also why I feel I paid my due:
I needed to go into my partners flat (nearby the car park) to collect some personal items and get on the train to meet her in London, there were some serious family issues at this time (illness) it was a stressful time, my mind was definitely on other things. But my plan was to buy another ticket after 18:00 before jumping on the train to cover myself for the rest of the evening, but I completely forgot and got on my train without doing so (bit of background on this car park: if you buy a ticket anytime between 18:00 & 08:00 you paid £2 for the whole overnight stay , I have picture evidence of the sign and done this all the time when staying at my partners). I realised my error later in the evening when coming home on the train but I had no way of paying immediately as I had no charge on my phone, even so, it had been left without a ticket for a substanatial period. When I arrived back to the car park I immediately bought a ticket taking me to 08:00 the following day paying the £2 which I would have done at some time after 18:00 before getting on the train. I left the following morning at 07:55.
Will the judge see my explanation as wishy washy nonsense? Is this really worth pursuing? I personally don't think its fair to be charged £125 for this error when the parking firm has still received full payment from me. I have picture evidence of the tickets I bought as I knew it would cause an issue. When I contested with the parking firm initially they flat out rejected my defence because I didn't have a valid ticket for that 5 hour period.
If you think this is worth defending, how would you word this in defence without it sounding daft or should I lean into the daft card?
Many thanks in advance.

What is the Issue Date on your County Court Claim Form?
Upon what date did you file an Acknowledgment of Service?
Your MCOL Claim History will have the definitive answer to that.
Who is the Claimant?
Was it at a railway station car park? If so, which one?2 -
The above is a witness statement , not needed for several months
Read the newbies FAQ sticky thread near the top of the forum , post 2 , especially the court advice , use the coupon mad template
Email a SAR to the DPO at the PPC and attach a copy of the claim form as proof of I D under the GDPR law to obtain all your data
Post the claim form issue date below and the name of the parking company too2 -
There is a template defence near the top of the forum thread list, all you need to do is adjust paras 2 and 3 with a little background detail to set the scene. No need for the whole story. We don't know what a Judge will make of it - they all make up their own minds, there is no precedent linked to your description they would need to follow. The whole court process from the position you're now at, right through to the actual court hearing (generally many months away), if it does take place is detailed in the NEWBIES FAQ sticky, second post.Which parking firm and which solicitors please? Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Acknowledgement sumbitted - 9/3/2021
Claimant - SIP Parking Limited
The car park is nearby a railway station but I'm not sure if it's considered one? It's named 'Station Way, Basildon'
Thanks1 -

So this is a continuation of the story you started over two years ago.
I did write on that thread at the time - "Post again on this thread if ever you receive a Letter of Claim or official court correspondence".With a Claim Issue Date of 2nd March, and having filed an Acknowledgment of Service in a timely manner, you have until 4pm on Monday 5th April 2021 to file your Defence. That's over two weeks away. Plenty of time to produce a Defence, but please don't leave it to the last minute. To create a Defence, and then file a Defence by email, look at the second post in the NEWBIES thread.Don't miss the deadline for filing a Defence.4
