You have a valid point. Thinking about it, your tactic should have been to order them to release you immediately, and if they failed to do so, leave via a fire exit. If the fire exits were locked then a report to the local fire brigade should definitely have been made.

OMG I have actual tears in my eyes!!! Where do you people come from?! Call the fire services hahaha?!
    Know what you don't

I've read some tripe in my time but this is right up there.:rotfl:

Is the OP a politician, I gave up reading to find out how long he/she was locked in for, no straight answer?:T

Now read it a little bit more carefully, eh. Locked fire exit? Potentially dangerous situation? Report it to Fire Service? Not 'call them out', !!!!!!!

Quite possibly: trying to make an exit but finding it impossible to do for various reasons, getting increasingly upset about it and on the lookout for someone to blame, sound familiar? ;)

Just to answer your question, OP wouldn't say how long the lock-in lasted but typically such lock-ins will be for maybe 15 minutes. Not only that, it is not absolutely certain that they were involved. The thread title suggests they were but everything thereafter is silent on their involvement.

Thanks for that info. Not being allowed out of a bank for 15 minutes because some dumbo clerk wants to fill up a machine with money while customers are already on the premises is pretty outrageous. Two minutes - fine. Five minutes - problematic. Fifteen minutes - ridiculous. As I mentioned earlier, I would leave via a fire exit.

You're the one being ridiculous. Banks don't have fire exits for customers, other than through the main entrance. Any dedicated fire exits will be in the back offices, to which you don't have access except with a staff key, or by using an entry PIN no.

Really? That sounds quite dangerous, but I guess activating the fire alarm would automatically open all escape routes, or have the banks got their own arrangements for that basic safety requirement as well?

Hands up everyone who, when informed without previous warning that the doors were now locked and you're going to be stuck on the premises for 15 minutes, would be quite happy. I certainly wouldn't put up with it.

BTW EarthBoy: if you don't know what ad hominem means, please look it up. I'm fairly new on this forum but from the start I've noticed that ad hominem attacks are a significant problem. I guess it puts a lot of people off contributing.

Me, as long as I didn't have to be somewhere else, urgently.

If you don't know what "ridiculous" means, please look it up. You'll find it's a perfect description of your comments.
