Well, good day so far.
Shopping done, within budget
Lounge cleaned and tidied.
Washing done and currently on airers.:)
Bank accounts checked and a little bit moved into my special mortgage overpayments account that I have set up...will add to it next week and make an extra payment then.
Shepherds pie ingredients all ready in the kitchen for me to get startedand then I might have time for some treadmill.
Not done the list yet, but will do it when I can...or when my brain is ready for it...
Also when I was out in Mr M's. they had a sale of household bits and managed to get 2 single sheets for £4 each. I thought that was a bargain and just what we need as we are sorting out the spare room with new beds for when the GC come for sleepovers. The old sofa bed we have has seen better days really...its ok as a sofa but rubbish as a bed...as well as being double which means they fight and kick each other:rotfl:

Morning everybody. Hope you all had a good night. I slept quite well again. Noticing that since I have recovered from my infection I am sleeping a lot better, but wondering if it has to do with OH still being in the spare room as he is now coughing a lot. I always seem to have quite a few bad nights when he is in the bed...his snoring, tossing and turning, and if he gets out to go to the bathroom in the night, he can never do it quietly. Much as I want him to come back to our bed, I am seriously wondering if we would be so much healthier and happier if he did sleep in the spare room...maybe just on work nights. Anybody got any experience or opinions on this? He also always moans at me, as he says I pull the duvet off him. He likes it all smoothed out just right, whereas I am happy for it to be in a heap, as long as I am covered up. Its a hard decision.
Well today's plans are not too many.
Need to put a wash on of some bedding...the downside to OH being in the other room...twice as much bedding to wash...:(
Got to go to the village and pick up the fruit/veg and bag of potatoes later, already ordered from our lovely greengrocer.
Got a few bits I want to sell and think I might actually start using Ebay as seem to have no luck on the FB selling pages at the moment. Although I object to having to pay fees. Maybe I could try Shpock first, I do have an account but only ever uses it once, years ago.
Going to get on the treadmill for a bit
Then a lazy day as we have a few TV programmes we want to catch up on. Going to bed early is great for our health, but we have been missing some of our TV shows we like to watch.
Have a good day everyone. I will update if I manage to sell any of my bits...:)DMP 2015 £57,549, now £36,112 (37% paid)

Yes my inlaws do as well. Funny thing is, when I first knew them I always said to OH that I hoped we would never get like that. It almost seemed to me to be like saying you didn't love each other anymore. But actually I suppose it is a way of saying you do love each other and you are doing it so that the other person can sleep better. OH always goes into the other room if one of us is ill or something but never really considered it on a full time basis until now. Will have to broach the subject quietly I think...not really sure how he would feel about it.DMP 2015 £57,549, now £36,112 (37% paid)

I often think DH and I would sleep better in separate rooms but we've got nowhere to do that. He snores a lot and I'm a light sleeper."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0

Delurkung just to say , my parents sleep in separate rooms at home have done for years , they say they sleep much better alone .
I guess you can only broach the subject and see how it is accepted. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Yes, I think my plan is going to be to get the new bed and the spare bedroom sorted first, and then broach the subject. If its a nice new bed, he might be more willing to try it . I could say, just on work days or something....maybe on a weekend its not so important if we don't get a full night's sleep. Obviously when GC come for sleepover he can't go in there anyway....lol:rotfl:
Been a funny day today. Felt really fed up for some reason this morning. Not really sure why, must be the weather. Anyway, I don't feel so bad now. We went out to local DIY shop to get some wood as OH is going to put me a couple of extra shelves in the airing cupboard...I have only been moaning about it for the last 11 years....:rotfl: He's even made a start on it now...:) Think he realise how fed up I felt earlier and we had a bit of a chat about how sometimes my anxiety seems to come back again and I feel a bit like this for no real reason that I can put my finger on. Think we will both feel better if we actually manage to get away for our little break we are hoping to go on in 2 weeks...fingers crossed.
Hope everyone is having a good weekend.DMP 2015 £57,549, now £36,112 (37% paid)

Well good nights sleep until about 2am when I heard OH coughing loads for about 10 mins and then I couldn't get back to sleep for ages.
So today's plans are ...quick hoover upstairs and in the kitchen
Nip out to buy a few birthday cards as we have so many birthdays coming up in the next few weeks.
Need to buy a few other bits as well including some peppermint tea bags.....tried to be frugal and bought some cheap ones from Co-op and they are really nasty...more like spearmint than peppermint....yuk. I will be passing them on to my friend who drinks peppermint, to see if she likes them.
Will probably need to put fuel in the car as well.
Then got to stop at Dr's to see why the nurse hasn't phoned me yet about these breathing test I am
supposed to be having.
Hoping if I get time to start sorting out stuff for our little trip...still keeping fingers crossed we are going...all being well it is 2 weeks yesterday.
Got GS's coming about 3.20pm after school. DD is usually home from work just after 4 on a Monday, so they won't be here for long.
Then I might actually sit down with a coffee and watch an episode of Marie Kondo.
Nothing much is happening on the DMP front at the moment, wish it would all go a bit faster. Still deciding about making another F&F offer, will see how things pan out.
What's everyone else up to?:)DMP 2015 £57,549, now £36,112 (37% paid)

Well I managed to get the birthday cards and the peppermint tea bags yesterday. On the way back I called in at the Dr's to ask about the breathing tests....receptionist shrugged her shoulders and told me the nurse that does them had been off and the machine was still broken anyway....when I asked if she had any idea how long I would have to wait, she shrugged again and said she was sure the nurse would ring me!! I'll give it a couple more days and then I will try again. If they still don't know, then I am going to ask if my GP actually knows these tests aren't being done? She told me a week ago I needed the tests and surely if I have to wait too long, she should send me to the hospital to get them done instead. Seems ridiculous to me.
Anyway, that's my little moan of the day...sorry.
Got some housework done first thing and then been to the hospital with OH for another appointment re his shoulder. They are pleased with his progress and say he can start riding his bike again, but he has to inform insurance about the metal plate he has had inserted as if he was to have another accident, it could actually be worse and there are metal screws pointing downwards towards his lungs.... If he doesn't tell them and he did have another accident, they would probably refuse to pay out...so best make sure he does, as if I don't keep on at him about it, he won't do it. So hopefully he will do the repairs to his bike soon and get back on it. There is part of me that is wishing he didn't ride and that he had another car. But the reason he got it in the first place was that we couldn't really afford to run 2 cars and the bike was a cheap option, just for him to go to work on. We'll just have to see what happens.
Going back to work this week, Thursday, which is good. Went to see the boss at my other job and told her I want to come back. It is only 1 day, on a Friday and I am self employed there. It is a small gift shop and she pays me cash and I declare it on my self assessment. She says I can't go back this week as she has promised the day to the other girl.....:( Hey ho, So I will start back next week there. TBH, the shop is very cold and even with the stupid little heater that she has, it never feels warm. So I suppose at the moment I am better off not there as the cold is so bad for my chest. Roll on spring!
So off to make a coffee now and an episode of Marie Kondo. Then a few things to list on FB selling pages and a bit of sorting out.
Ooh....just noticed it has started snowing.... sky looks awful. Won't lay or anything though as it has been raining for about half hour or more, so everything is wet. Will just be icy now......:eek::(...hate it!!!DMP 2015 £57,549, now £36,112 (37% paid)
