How do you square that with 20% of their sales being in the US - an almost exclusively petrol market? 2018 saw record sales for them there.
And it's not a Euro-approval issue, either, because their ranges and sales in some European markets, notably Scandinavia, are primarily petrol.

JLR were bought by BMW in 1994, then by Ford in 2000, before Tata in 2008. Over that time - and especially under Tata ownership they've massively increased in size.

The model range is global. The engines are Euro6 compliant and type approved for European markets. There's no RHD/petrol engine issue. There's no reason at all why they can't sell petrols here.0 -

It is yes. However in the context of what Gloomendoom was saying about being in the new development centre and making that comment i assume he was referring to JLR UK taking that view.
Theres no petrol engine variant "issue" other than whilst people dont want diesels they are reluctant to buy petrols. Other companies have invested heavily in hybrid & electric models. JLR seem to have been caught on the hop.0 -
Well once we leave theres no point whinging about it, we just need to get on with it.
I agree, but our entire economy will go through a long period of change and a lot of stuff will be "because of Brexit". It may be tedious for some people but that's the reality. People voted for a massive change, it isn't going to be done and dusted in a few years never to be mentioned again.0
