Yes, £90 for a fake bag. I put in a bid at the very last minute and from the item description I thought it was a genuine bag! She said that the bag was given to her by a very generous friend and in the shop this bag would have cost around £400, that’s why I fell for it. Only after I'd won the item, transferred the money and sent her an email thanking her and saying something along the lines of: “can't wait to get the bag and I hope it is not a fake!", she got back to me saying that it was a present and she wasn’t sure whether it was authentic or not...I wanted to cancel the bid but thought it was too late. I received the item on Wednesday but realized that not only was it a fake, it was also faulty. I'm gutted, how could I be so stupid...0 -
Don't be so hard on yourself, we've all had dodgy dealings with sellers, I know I have. The most importatn thing is to try and get your money back.
Did you begin the chargeback process yet?
If you return the bag use special delivery, its more expensive than recorded but you are only covered up to £30 with recorded.
The value of the item (or at least what you paid) means that if it goes astray you will be compensated correctly0 -

I haven't started the chargeback process just yet, I thought I'd try to contact the seller tonight by the phone ( I did phone her last nite but she wasn't in, at least that's what I've been told) So, I'll try to contact her again just to let her know that I'll be returning the bag and also, I'll try to convince her to send me the money back without ebay getting involved. Also, I want to mention that selling such things is illegal in England and I've already phoned the police yesterday ( I did, just to find out where I could go to find out more about selling the illegal goods, they suggested I'd call the Office of Fair Trade ) I'm sure sooner or later I'll get a refund. Thank you very much everyone, you made me feel positive about this situation and now I know I've got good chances to get my money back.0 -

Also, I don't think you would get your money back through Paypal. If you claim the bag wasn't received even though it was then that would be fraud. And since you've complained to the seller via email about the faulty zip on the bag then thats proof enough that you have received it.
I also sincerely doubt that a zip could be damaged in the post.
I don't even think you could claim the item wasn't as described. If the seller stated the zip is working but its not then you could. But I have a feeling the seller wouldn't of stated this, therefore you haven't been misdescribed. The seller is under no obligation to state anything but what they do state as to be true.
I hate to say this but when you buy anything on eBay its Caveat Emptor..Let the buyer beware.

I was bidding at the very last minute thinking that the bag authentic, I thought it'd make a good bargain - a nice designer's bag for only £90 and only after I'd won the item I'd contacted the seller saying I'm looking forward to recieve the bag and also said that I hope that it wasnt a fake. And then she got back to me saying that she wasn't sure... I did explain all this already in my previous posts. I was afraid to cancel the bid thinking that that would had spoiled my reputation on ebay and I'd get a negative feedback from her. But my original complaint wasnt' about authenticity it was about the zip being damaged, but she wouldn't believe me. She accused me in damaging the zip...0 -

The zip didn't get damaged in the post, that's for sure, it was a faulty zip originally. But the nastiest thing is that she's accusing me in damaging it!
Even if (and I say if) the zip derailed when I opened it the first time, this should NOT happen. I've bought bags in the past for much less then £96 which have lasted me for years...

Contact Paypal informing them that it is not only damaged but it is fake. They will refund you. Also complain to eBay and get the seller banned.0

I agree with bargainbabe...alot of conflicting info on this one.
I have to say that now its gone pear shaped you are playing the "item is fake" card and wanting to get the seller in trouble.
While I totally agree that if the item is faulty the seller should refund you 100% I don't think you should only now complain about its fakeness when you knew all along it wasn't genuine.I would not have paid for the bag as soon as she mailed me saying she wasn't sure if it was real or not and when she negged me or filed a non paying bidder dispute I would have argued my case that had the item desc said that it was fake I wouldn't have bid for the item at all.I think its underhand that if you can't get her to refund you you are willing to get her into trouble as its not genuine....a fact that you were aware of all along....
I would try and resolve this by sending it back to her using recorded delivery and asking her to check the zip out herself.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -

Um, I tend to agree with La-fleur. In your original post you said "I knew it wasn't authenthic item but agreed to buy it, anyway" which rather reads as though the auction made it clear that the bag was not authentic.
If the auction could in any way suggest that the bag was not authentic ebay will merely pull it from their database even though it has already closed. That would mean you lose any protection that ebay might otherwise have given. Obviously though if the auction stated that the bag was genuine then you would need to sort out the problem with them and with the 'owner' of the name like Louis Vuitton (or whatever). Check to see if the company is listed with the VERO scheme.
If the bag was sold as a replica or 'probably' designer then you also acted illegally by buying it.

I'm not English therefore it seems to be unclear what I'm trying to say here: I've already said that my original complaint was about the zip being damaged and her refusing to refund. And secondly, I've already explained how I got myself into buying the fake bag. I realize that it probably seems as if I'm trying to get my money back purely because of the bag being fake, which is not true. It's damaged. And I now realize that I should have cancelled a bid right after she admited that she wasn't sure about authenticity of the bag.
