I would like to see a record that details the incident and that since the incident the doors have been looked at by a engineer.... Basic standard stuff really... If the doors not been checked by an engineer after my incident, then sadly I feel there is no duty of care in place.....
If people in this forum find that unreasonable, I guess I'm been unreasonable.... Odd though.!!!!! Lifes wonderful !!!!!0 -

Oddly enough this morning I have looked more closely at the doors in question there is no rubber seals on the sliding doors edges which would make contact with each other when closed , just metal with the track where the rubber should be, I checked the brand of the doors and the same doors are fitted at multiple points around the hotel all of which have the rubber fitted.
I am concerned this will happen again to another guest...justwondering25 wrote: »Is it wrong to suggest after an incident to want to be assured the door has been looked at by an engineer? I think that is common sense and part of some kind of duty of care.
The doors are working fine and there are no issues with them so it would be silly for them to call an engineer to look at them.
The sensors detect people approaching the doors, if for any reason a person is standing in the doorway they will close and re-open again when they detect excess pressure, just like what happened with you.
If someone walks in/out of an elevator just as the doors were closing and they touch them and they open again (which happens a lot) you think an engineer should be called each time it happens :rotfl:
If someone was in your car and they put their hand in the window as it was closing and the window opened again (due to the inbuilt safety feature). Would you then take your car to the garage and get a mechanic to inspect the window? :rotfl:0 -
The ops other thread doesn't seem to be going as planned either https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5948338/injury-while-on-holiday-automatic-doors-closed-on-me-while-passing-through-them0

On this occasion where many people pass through automatic door which has detecor sensors, should remain open or begin to open upon approach, I moved towards the doors at a normal walking pace and attempted to pass through unhindered at a normal walking pace.!!!!! Lifes wonderful !!!!!0

I once had my SiL up and she smokes. Once she went out into the yard for a fag, and I closed the patio doors. A few minutes later, she walked smack into said patio doors. I wasn't sued! She got over it.0

She should have, that door is a health and safety hazard, she could have broken something :eek:the shock"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

If you managed to get your arms shut in the doors you were presumably approaching as they closed or stood in the doorway not moving? Why didn't you wait for them to open again before trying to move through them
Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Humankind has put a man on the moon and cured all sorts of diseases, yet cannot walk through a door. :rotfl:
The more you cause a scene, the more you won't enjoy your holiday, the more people and goibf to ignore your 'plight'.
You've done what you can, it is now out of your hands. In other cultures the issue you have encountered will be seen as less than serious, especially when it involves a foreigner.
I've walked into a glass door and given myself concussion, I didn't sue the building owner! I laughed it off, even if it did really, really hurt!0
