Interestingly, it is my NS&I bonds which do not appear to have been reported to HMRC.
Could be a blessing in disguise.  NS&I, by their own admission, have been mis-reporting some taxable savings interest.
NS&I's stance was that this is OK because over the lifetime of the bond, all taxable interest will have been reported - just not in the right tax years. ... :o

  • Following an unexpected letter from HMRC telling me I am due a refund I have also discovered that HMRC have a figure for untaxed interest that is too low. After a protracted phone conversation I was also able to identify that they do not have interest details from a couple of ns&i bonds that were credited in December 2019.

... other than to say I need to contact the banks to tell them to report to HMRC...
I was also told this but, perhaps understandably, this was well outside the script of the ns&i telephone agent. He put me on hold several times but was unable to tell me whether there had been a problem supplying data to HMRC and ended by arranging to send me a fresh set of statements despite me telling him I already had the statements sitting on my desk in front of me.

In my case the ns&i bonds do not account for the whole discrepancy and so HMRC has now agreed to post me a complete report of the interest information they hold on me for 2019/20. Trying to figure it out over the phone was proving very difficult - for example they told me they had no data for my Birmingham Midshires bond but in fact it had been reported as Bank of Scotland interest.
  • Following an my online query about HMRC`s total 19-20 untaxed interest, they posted a summary which is missing BOS, Virgin, First Direct, Leeds and Raison accounts. There data collection is woeful. Telephoning all the missing account details would be onerous.

When I saw that the new interest from savings had reduced my tax-free amount and added an "unpaid amount", I contacted HMRC and they let me simply write to them with the details of accounts and expected interest. This happened last year, when they sent a form, but this year I don't even need that, as I'd already re-created that form in excel (the original only had space for 4 accounts, hehe). It's much easier than doing it over the phone or webchat (at least last year they didn't even let me do it over the phone).

Can you just request this via on line?  Was it easy?
How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)

No, it must be over the phone or on web chat.
  • I do not have any unpaid tax on interest amounts of. They owe me a small sum.  However they told me I do and owe £95. Then INCREASED my allowance to pay for it and raised my tax code. That's when i gave up.

Can you see the word BETA at the bottom of your PTA Account Home page?
HMRC projects have been taking years to get to a working state.
Play with BETA systems if you like, but don't be shocked if they don't work and/or change unpredictably.

Marcus have not shown up on my list at all, has anyone else had that issue?

I am waiting for HMRC to post me a comprehensive list but over the phone the HMRC agent could not find my Marcus interest either. Also missing for me was Leeds Bulding Society interest and ns&i bond interest from December 2019.

That may simply be because Marcus doesn't have its own banking licence, it is licenced by Goldman Sachs International.
