  • Hi Emma

I did Virgin Vie years ago and didnt enjoy it as parties were hard to book.

Also you cant just quit Virgin Vie if you have only just joined...

Im fully trained in makeup so want to provide a professional service using many different makeup brands and not be doing it off the back of Virgin Vie.

    Thanks anyway

Have a look on your local University website, there is usually some trial wanting volunteers, usually psychologists wanting to test your responses to something or other, but they usually pay well and can have other perks, and I have done all sorts including Snack testing, which involved, turning up to an office once a week, being weighed, then given a bin liner full of biscuits, chocolate, crisps and other assorted snacks. It was great.

Have also tested sleeping bags, by sleeping in a freezer overnight, and reporting how it went.

  • Unfortunatly (Having done Kleeneze in the past) there is a significant outlay to buy all of your catalogues and bags (so that your catalogue bundles don't get ruined by the elements).

We found that to be effective you need to have at least 200 Catalogues as the hit rate is roughly one order for every 7 books. You will also have to submit to a credit check so if your credit rating isnt good chances are that you will have to cover all purchases in cash yourself to order the goods and then collect the money from your customers.

There IS money to be made in it. but the most effective way is to have agents below you who you have recruited (you then get a percentage of their sales and a precentage of the sales of the people they recruit) To be honest the whoel thing smacks of the dreaded pyramid scheme to me.

We made very little from it even though we were turning over 600 catalogues a week, but I guess the effort you put in is diectly proportinate to the money you get out.
I Reject your reality and substitute my own.

When life gives you lemons, throw em back and say you want CASH instead!
  • Kleeneze makes me mad! Ive bought three things from the old witch that does the catalogue in my area and she is soooo rude... Im not buying anymore from her... Is there another way I can order the stuff as I like it but refuse to give her any more money!
  • Hold lingerie parties etc.My mum used to do loads of party plan stuff and hardly ever went to other peoples homes with it,she usually just had them at our house inviting different people all the time.Okay if you know a lot of people I suppose. She did raunchy undies(always had the staples such as packs of socks and granny nighties too),jewellery,make-up,toys,school uniform, bamboo and wicker stuff for the house?,electrical items, and of course tupperware(these were my favourite as she always made great party food to display the tupperware properly).
Look in your local paper. In mine there are ads from businessess who drop a black bag full of new clothes off at your house every week for you to show and sell to family and friends. You get a % and they replace the goods every week.

  • Hi all, i work from home, i am a chat room moderator for a online Bingo company.

The job i do offers hours all times of the day and i decided to work full time over 2 years ago.

Paid to chat nothing easier, and i get a tax allowance for my energy bills and a tax rebate for my PC desk etc,i had to purchase. (they don't provide these got to have your own and reliable Internet broad band connection)

Go onto all the bingo sites in the uk, most will have a contact us/work for us section and ask there.

Wages are not fantastic but well above min wage, and no travel costs etc so works out ok. It allows me to study full time too while being able to pay my mortgage and bills.

Hope this helps in some way.

ps... as you can see i'm more of a reader than a poster but wanted you all to have this information if it can help in some way :)
I am now debt free :j:jsince January 2009

Hi, not sure if im on the right thread but I am considering doing life modelling for our local college. Apparently the pay isn't too bad, considering you only have to sit still for a while. Not too sure if ive got the bottle to get my kit off for a bunch of strangers, or worse still to get my kit off and realise one of the students isn't a stranger! anyone done this kind of work before? x

  • I know there are many partyplan companies out there, but a few years ago I met a lady who decided to do this sorty of thing on her own, having been made redundant. She did a bit of research and bought handbags and purses wholesale (nothing expensive) and then started her own handbag parties. The difference was, whereas at a party you normally see samples then have to wait for the goods to be delivered, she had 2 or 3 of every bag either on display or in the boot of her car. Everything was priced between 99p (kids stuff) and £15 and we all took away what we wanted on the night. My friend, who hosted the party, got commission.

I thought it was a great idea.
