Oddly enough one was a brush factory a mile from where I lived and my SiL worked in the factory. The work was assembling artists pain brushes and it didn't pay much at all. Although they said they would put me on the list and contact me when they had a vacancy my SiL told me they only ever let their employees, or ex-employees do home working.

There is a factory near me which has a similar policy although they also take people on if a current employee can vouch for you.

Bear in mind that prisoners also do this kind of work. I know the prison near me does this kind of work for the local factory.
  • hi everyone.

not sure if this in the right place, but i remember a old friend of mine used to do work at home like filling envelopes, sticking sim cards on leaflets etc. does anyone know where this can be found so i could start it up myself?

    many thanks!

  • to be honest it doesnt exist anymore as its all done by machinery and if a website tells u otherwise 99.9% of the time they are out to scam you. The main legit ways to make money part time from home are through AQA, textpert (see boards below) slicethepie.com (see boards below) adult text and phone lines (see boards below) and small bits of cash from online surveys oh and mystery shopping... work your way through this board and you should find all the info.
  • I would agree

I used to run a magazine that has a load of these people advertising in it. All I can say is don't do it. The amount of people that would phone us up and complain about Homeworker scams made me realise that they are all scammers - its all tricks and mirrors and more often than not some kind of complicated Pyramid scheme.

You have to put £30 down to "register" for work - or you have to generate another 50 leads before you get your money back...invariably you never hear back from these people. Its a disgrace. We wanted to cut all the Homeworker adverts from the magazine but basically because there is no government legislation curbing their activities and its very difficult to prove its a scam, its a nightmare to even attempt it.

    Don't do it.

Yes, Kleeneze has been going for as long as I can remember (I'm 57). It is a legitimate company. It used to involve going from door to door trying to hawk their cleaning products. Nowadays the "smart" way is to hold parties at friends' houses. The other company like this is "Betterware". Another one is "Amway" but this is really a MLM company - don't get hooked in by the hype.

But there ARE ways to make money from home. Many people buy things from auctions and sell them on eBay. I found details of several ideas on this site:

(Not a sales site. I think it's financed by the adverts).
  • Hi there
Selling doesnt need to be door to door anymore, i know kleeneze and Avon have the idea behind it but i know hundreds of people that are into sales and they can do it on the net, to friends family and even local business's it really dont have to be trailing the streets anymore!.
Just an idea, how about party plan? Your self employed and you choose when and where to work??
    hope it helps?

    Hi guys

I found this site a while ago about earning some extra money from a company called Kleeneze. Has anyone ever heard of them before?

I came accross it because I was looking for a bit of extra money to pay for bills and extra luxuries and get out of debt.

I cant believe I found out that the company has been going for 84 years and I had never heard of them before!!! Unbelievable.

Anyway I researched them and apparently are the biggest and longest running home shopping network in Europe.

Also I have been doing it a few months now and it is FANTASTIC, I earn an extra £600 a month part time at the moment.

If anyone wants a FREE 15 minute DVD showing you how it works, if you phone FREE phone 0800 458 5611 and leave a message. The company will send you one for FREE.

Hang on, don't include Betterware with the like of Kleeneze and Amway, Betterware are a totally different deal, I am not a distributor but having suffered from Kleeneze, I do know one or two people who have made a regular income from Betterware which is NOT an mlm company to my knowledge
