  • Gosh think I have the flu! But possibly not, it seems to come and go. I felt alright for a while, had a bit of a tidy up then went and got in the bath and felt terrible. When it comes I feel completely wiped out with zero energy. It seems to be a pattern of feel ok, do something then quite quickly feel wiped out. Have actually asked a mum at school if she'll pick up madam and drop her home as the thought of the school run was

foxgloves was just posting to say I'd noticed your survey income for 2018. Very impressive! :money:

    Hi January Joy-Seekers,

    Evening!:coffee: Currently sofa-bound :( but had a productive morning.

    Debt-Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Year Four:

    * Check online banking. Done.

    * Continue my new Challenge 500 miles challenge. I am going to travel 500 miles for free before the end of 2019: walking, hiking, climbing, cycling, running and swimming. (There is a charge to use the local pool but I will offset the cost in other ways so there is 'no charge'.) Will walk later. Nope.

*Check up on eBay selling. Done. Sold a gizmo. Have parcelled it up to go tomorrow.

    * Purge emails. Done.

    * Tea is leftover Decemberfest nibbles. Done.

    * Order wee rear wiper for my car. Done. £4 on eBay.

“Everything will be okay in the end. If it's not okay, it's not the end.”

    Morning all :)
Up early as usual, but so far I have only had breakfast, fed the dog and emptied the dishwasher :o
    I also need to:
Check banks and update spreadsheet if necessary Not yet
Someone is coming to measure and quote for stair carpet this morning. I have used this (small local) company before, and although they are not the cheapest, I am confident that they will supply good quality carpet, do a good job of fitting it, and not mess me about. Done, accepted the quote, and the work will be done in about 5 weeks. That is fine, no rush, and of course I won't have to pay for it until then :D
I am hoping this will be the only big household spend needed this year and the boiler doesn't blow up or anything
Hoovering and dusting downstairs to be done Not done
Plenty of soup left for lunch :)Done

Someone is picking up another garden item this afternoon, so that has to be dismantled ready for them Done
Posted an ebay item, listed 4 more things :)

Make a big pot of bolognese sauce Done, used up lots of lurking veg :D

Have a stock making session, as a huge bag of bones came with the half lamb OH bought off of one of his farmer friends before Christmas, and they take up loads of room in the freezer. In the SC now. There is also about 300g of meat that will do for a pie or something, and lots of fat for our feathered friends :)
OH informs me that his log order is arriving later today, so that will involve scuttling up and down the garden to put them away, as they will be tipped on the shared lane at the back of the house and therefore need to be moved asap. Done, phew!
Get some HG fruit out of the freezer and cook it for future breakfasts, as it is cheaper than using bought fresh fruit all the time, and Ifinished up the HG dried fruit this morning. Done
I am not planning any spends today, and I am sure OH's having to pay for these extra logs plus the carpet quote will concentrate my mind  Nothing spent apart from logs!
OH had some materials left over from the raised bed that he recladded, and the new one that he made, and used it to make me a large wooden trough thing on legs (a bit like those veg trug things that I have coveted but don't have because they cost a fortune, see https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00IQ6ZGX6/ref=asc_df_B00IQ6ZGX657963906/?!!!!!googshopuk-21&creative=22110&creativeASIN=B00IQ6ZGX6&linkCode=df0&hvadid=230204386967&hvpos=1o1&hvnetw=g&hvrand=2406479623024819913&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1006925&hvtargid=pla-414662578077&th=1&psc=1). Not quite the same, a slightly different design and a bit smaller, but the same idea. I am really pleased with it, as it will give me more growing space, and best of all it didn't cost anything extra as it was made with left over materials. It only took him a couple of hours, too. It will take me longer than that to treat it with wood preservative and line it.

Sounds like a busy day, and I had better make a start!
  • Morning dawn. After yesterday's not waking up in time to call in for work (called in at 9.30 instead of 8  that will be grief when I go back :( ) I set my alarm for my usual time and called at 7! Honestly I don't feel too bad now, just a bit under the weather but I was so wiped out yesterday I didn't think it was a good idea to go in. Feeling a bit guilty now!

I intend to take it easy again today. Have got some chicken breasts out of the freezer for tea. Persuaded oh to take some of last night's los for lunch (it didn't turn out that great!) and got madam ready for school.

    Intending to:

    * do a load of washing
    * nip to local shop to get a couple of essentials for today - will do a shop in the next few days when feeling better
    * watch a film, nap, knit
    * check onepoll
    * I did a sewing lesson on shortening jacket sleeves yesterday so would be good to try that out

Think that's about my energy level today! Have a good day

A girl I was line managing didn't turn in for work and we couldn't get hold of her at all for hours. She lived locally so in a right panic we went over to her house at lunch time. Turned out she'd been ill all night and was just fast asleep! I was so panicked! I had convinced myself that she'd broken her neck getting out of the shower or something!

I hope your lot don't give you too much grief and that you're right as rain soon x

    - make list of the radiators with broken valves (start of epic house fix list) done
    - collate mending pile for weekend excitement did not do, got involved in my book instead :o

    Today:
    - SMALL top up shop ready for OH arriving home tomorrow - stick to list
    - change bedlinen x2 lots

    Morning folks!

Big hugs to all the poorlies - I hope you feel better soon!

A long sleep for me (woke up an hour ago) but I feel a bit groggy for it. Hoping that my brekkie perks me up,

We are short of a lot of staple foods. I could still pull together a meal - poss a pie as I have potatoes and could make pastry. But we have no rice, pasta, bread (until I make some), cous cous, lentils, quark (a staple in our house), oats, milk or cheese

We won't be getting anything today though as we are over to the in-laws to Sort Out The Loft. We won't finish this today!

    The mission:
    • B from stores. L at in laws. Dinner... unknown - done. Picked up a pizza from the shop instead of ordering in :money:
    • Heating off all day - done. Still off as warm here
    • Dry washing to piles - done
    • Dehumidifier water into free flush bucket and used - done
    Not much doing really!

    clf x

    Morning all,
Get well soon all the poorlies.
    Todays list
    * ds1 had ys bread as usual with his eggs for breakfast done
    * ds2 to free school breakfast club done
    * gym session to make the most of my membership and refilled water bottle there done
    * return school trousers that weren't right for ds1 to a*da, got petrol, milk and bread whilst there rather then drive to aldee done
    * return dss library books and collect reserved books - done - this saves us a fortune
    * pick up prescriptions for ds & dh - not money saving but done anyway!
    * all meals from stores, plenty of leftovers to be had.
    * check banking/update spreadsheet and email it back to myself as a back up done
    * washing away off the radiators done
    * musc1efood delivery didn't come until 6.30pm so that needs sorting and freezing
    * update freezer inventory
    * look through cupboards to see if anything wants moving into the use up box to focus the mind!
    * hoover just where needs doing
    * iron dh's work shirts - switching off before starting the last one to use the residual heat done
    * sort out the gifts box, make a note of what we have and update list in my bullet journal done
    * look to order ds1 new school t shirts as they're tight on his arms (luckily they're in good condition so will be used by ds2 next year) done
    * update ds2s medical diary as I didn't get round to it yesterday.
** Done some swag$s to try and get towards a payout
** Also sorted through all our wardrobes, added a few bits to the charity shop bag and another few to the recycling fabric bag. Sorted through the various boxes of clothes for ds2 to grow into and hung them by age in the spare room wardrobe instead. I do love a good sort out, tidy house tidy mind and all that.
** when ds2 came home from school I got him to try on all his clothes, he has so many as he's had hand me downs from ds1 and a friend so we've gone through and picked his favourites and the rest will go to the charity shop to become someone else's favourites he said :D:D

Thats my start. Have a good day all.
Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.
  • Have been reading along when I can. I'm another one who has been down with a cold. Originally my throat was incredibly sore and then the cold started to develop. Have sounded like Darth Vader the past couple of nights as I get very croupy when I get chesty. Feeling alot better than I did, had alot of asleep last night.
DD said she kept coming in to see if I wanted a cuppa last night but I crashed by 8pm.

Have been trying to keep the faith. Still eating from stocks. DD BF has been staying with us, he leaves today but has declared he will be cooking before he goes
Have been checking banking, everything good. D.debits running smoothly.
Still need to pop things away, just haven't felt up to it.
Messaged RM surveys as I didn't receive my December incentive or Christmas stamps. They are sending them in the post for me.
Gave DD loyalty stamps for £10 off at the vets when she took her cat for a MOT yesterday. Will cost her alot more next week as cats left over teeth needed sorting but do have enough loyalty stamps for another £10 off. It was the missing cat now home (that was nearly 2 years ago now) and boy was the cat in a foul mood last night!
Cant think of much else, haven't been spending or doing much
CCL well done to ur DD. I'm not surprised ur DD needed cuddles after but her actions will have made such a difference

  • Phew! We're home. 6 bin bags of carp have left. Many, many defunct leads.

We have come back with two very small useful things for ourselves. A lead that is good for OH and a small wardrobe magnet to fix ours.

So much rubbish up there. We haven't even scratched the surface! Looking forward to a chill out now. Have just shared the bath (I don't like baths so I have a quick dip and then OH wallows like a hippo).

Have a good evening folks x
