Funeral flowers are seriously expensive Kazw but it's at a time when you are at your most vulnerable to easy money. :(

Definitely the case. Funerals are like weddings - the florists / caterers / venue hear those words and only offer a "special" price list. You can always ask for a normal arrangement which you pick up yourself and pay less.
Make the bed Am I the only one that washes and dries the bedding and puts it straight back on? I can never be bothered to look for the spare bedding.

I've just done that too :D

My day has gone slightly to pot, as I was going out for lunch at 12.00 with a friend, but now have to meet someone on business at 1.00 because that person doesn't start work until then and has another appointment at 2.00 which is relevant to our conversation.
    IYSWIM!

    Have started tidying my RoD...

    Have started tidying my RoD...

My machine wash is 3 hours! Mine isn't going back on the beds anytime soon. Only washed on a 50 cotton so not super hot.

    Good luck with the ROD!
  • Back home again looking beautiful! If only

WM into TD and 2nd load in
    Pellet stove topped up
    Coffee made

So no more excuses, I have to do something with the pile of paper on the desk.

I have eaten a frog. My tax return is done.

Well done, Wishing. I once had to submit four in one hit because I was owed money and hadn't got round to doing them. Never again. I'm just about to start pulling all the figures and paperwork together for April to December so that when I come to do it towards the end of April most of the work is already done. I never want to fall behind again and the accountants whizz it through their system double quick if I submit the figures that quickly. (I know other people do theirs without using an accountant, but for me their bill is worth every single penny they charge - they've saved me thousands over the past 10 years.)

I'm so sorry, I forgot to pass on my condolences to you yesterday when I posted, Kazwookie.

I often put bedding straight back on ShirlGirl, more often in the summer but now that I've got to use the TD because nothing get's completely dry in this weather, then while it's still warm.

I managed to do everything on my list yesterday and have a shortish list for today. I'm trying out a new system to see if it helps with my time-management because nothing else has worked. We'll see. Bonus yesterday, I thought I had to go out last night and only discovered quite late in the day that it's next week. Most excellent.

    Flying: Deal with laundry.
House: Deal with last year's toolkits.
    Self: Nails.
    [STRIKE]Food: Make curried parsnip soup[/STRIKE].
Admin: Write all outstanding letters to clear that file.

We are out this evening, so I'm going to have to be all done by 5.15pm. It should be do-able.
    Better is good enough.

Managed to go for a run this morning; first one since before Christmas.
    - Rang MIL to remind her that Mr N is on his way round to take her to the dentist on his way home from the gym. Yesterday he went round and she'd forgotten the dentist so was still in bed. Even after he'd made her a cup of tea, she was still very dozy so he whizzed up to the dentist to make another appointment, luckily they were very understanding. She sounded fine this morning.
    - washed up
    - consolidated 3 fading flower arrangements
    - filled bird feeders
    - put away a basket of dry washing
    - decluttered the bedroom floor and rediscovered some trousers I've been looking for for a while.......
    - rang a friend to remind her we are de-Christmassing the church tomorrow morning.
    - checked emails to see if there's any sign of uni paying me; I messed up some summer invoices so they have taken a while to sort out, hence I haven't been paid at all for June, Oct or Nov yet. They are always about 6-8 weeks behind so I hadn't expected December's yet. Ouch and tax bill due at the end of the month.
    - put a few items away from various places round the house - why does everything go wandering?
    - grudgingly threw away the last of the blue spruce branch I'd used over Christmas; it's been dropping needles and generally getting in the way in the conservatory!

Quite enjoyed my planned HHC which turned out to be much longer, but I suspect it was procrastinating rather than writing a report. So I'm now about to start that.

    Flying very very slowly here.

Paperwork is progressing but it takes so long as is so boring!
Washing is coming along, load 1 folded/ironed, load 2 in TD, load 3 in WM (chocolates found in pockets eaten!)
    Lunch eaten,
Plumber spoken to appointment made for next week.

Time for another coffee before more paperwork
  • Work done, DW back on, dog bedding in TD. Small amount of work done for DH, woodburner cleaned out and relaid.

Might snooze for half an hour now :D

Still struggling to find the energy to do all my tasks, hence the still very sporadic posts here - sorry.

Minor panic today; the boiler's leaking. However, the plumber chappie has been and had a look, tightened up some things, and is putting in an order for a new bit. Not sure what, I left Mr Wolf to deal with him

Need to pop into town for some F&V and some spare light bulbs (bulb went in Mr Wolf's bedside lamp last night so he's used the last remaining spare of that type); and I need to do a general tidy round ready for tomorrow morning's meet'n'greet.

Haven't read back over all the thread, so posi-vibes where needed.
