  • Hi all

Paid stuff done (ended up working an hour and a half longer than I was supposed to). Food shopping done, driving instructor rung, RAC rung for DS1.

Off to light fire. No idea what's for tea. Three of them were at home this morning first thing but no-one has emptied DW so I am not rushing to feed them.

Oh and DS2s bedroom is absolutely disgusting. No idea when the sheets were last changed, pots everywhere, clothes all over. If he wants to live like that its up to him. I will keep the door closed so I cant see it.

I have one like that the only problem is it's rather smelly so if the door is left open I'm not happy.:embarasse He went away so I threw the duvet washed bedding, emptied rubbish etc and it still stunk. :(

I didn't post this morning because I couldn't think what to say, but I have done one load of washing (mostly dried outside, finished off on the radiators), cleaned all the windows inside, vacuumed downstairs and up the stairs and emptied the vacuum and sorted out the clogged up filters. It doesn't feel like much but it's better than nothing.

Discussion with step mother yesterday over funeral flowers, they are HOW much..........!!!!!!! enough said, I'll be doing my own thank you very much............but they won't look nice........tough...........hand tied with love and care rather than commerical...............but they have to make a living,...............yes I know but not at that price.......I am so out of touch with funeral flowers prices but £150 for a small arrangement.

Now to sort out my hosting internet company as to where my web site has gone and why............

    I'm sorry.

I made my own for the ex's father (he died on the afternoon after New Year's Day several years back). I wanted to spend the little money I had left after suits (old 'London Family', where 'showing respect' meant turning up looking like the Krays/Richardsons) on flowers, not florists.

I went to a market with a good floristry stall, explained I needed something I could use for a funeral and the woman said 'Oh' and asked me if I had anything in mind. She helped me to come up with the idea of lilies (his mother was called Lillie), Willow Catkins, white Tulips and some greenery. The flowers cost about £20 - I don't think she charged me the full going rate - and she gave me a long strip of twine, white ribbon, some floristry wire, wrapped them up in several layers of thick brown paper - and a big hug.

His widow called me a few days later. She said that seeing Spring Flowers in a bouquet made to be laid flat, rather than just another lump of plastic and either Carnations or Chrysanthemums stuffed in, felt just right. She said she thought at the time that he would have loved them and since she'd started making phone calls to thank people for coming, a large number had asked who did 'those flowers' because they looked so special.

I don't think anyone would criticise a hand chosen and handtied arrangement/bouquet. It shows you've put thought, time and effort into them.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

Tried to post and lost it. Must remember to copy before clicking to post. Works been busy so not been on here much. Not done much either. Been trying to do at least one washer load a day, cook, not had time for much else. Have picked up some drawers but not had time to build it yet. Must have a clothes clear out. Terrified of needing the bigger sizes I’ve been out of for a year. I might bag them then fling later. Food buying is slightly improved and I’m seeing space in the freezer a little.

Wondering if counselling for hoarding helps as I met a counsellor yesterday.

Work in a few hours dogs got me up but I’m so so so tired I might do a little and try for another sleep

Be back in Sunday, between work and a meal out with friends tonight I’m not going to get much done. OH out Sunday and I’ve declined to go again. Enjoyed my space and time last time he went. I’ve got the kitchen to finish off reordering
One day I might be more organised...........

  • Morning all :)

Up and at 'em this morning. I've unloaded DW, set the WM going and fed the dog. Kiddies building lego. DD is going to a party for a few hours at 9am, so just DS to entertain. We will walk the dog, also need to pop to the glass recycling place.

DH will continue to tinker with the car and chop some wood (supplies very low). Burgers with blue cheese for dinner.

    Have fab days all xx

JoJo thank you for your piece about flowers, in my mind currently I am going to get daffs, hand tie them with ribbon into a bouquet shape and lay them on the coffin.

    Recycling done
Heating back on, not doing too well with the change in temp from 34 to 8!
Need to have a major hoover up today, the cat had been putting large lumps of black / white fur all over the place, plus he is going to be brushed.

    Have a good day

    Kaz

When my sister died I could have used the 'recommended' florist but I went locally and chose my own arrangement and took it with me. Was £50.

    Still pricy.

Locally families tend to specify family flowers (and close family) only; but my family North and South do tend to go for more... must be because I'm near Yorkshire where people tend to be a bit canny with their brass lol.

Just catching up. Went to se Kiss Me Kate last night. Was :T:T:T:T:T

    2 x WM done

Thread caught up with. Coffee in bed slurped. Lie in being enjoyed. Going to read.
